    Hi,

I want to delete all my existing TV Channels in TV Server and do a full, clean rescan.

How do I delete ALL my existing channels, so I can start with a clean TVServer?

    Many thanks,

    M.

    Hi there,

Is it just TV channels, or everything to do with channels/groups/radio/TV ?

If its everything then simply stop TVService and delete/rename the DB file, then restart the TVService and go into Setup (should recreate the DB)

Otherwise, load up the config tool, go to TV Channels/All Channels, select the top one, hold down shift and select the bottom one, and then chose delete.

    Cheers Jay...

I have been trying to get some missing channels populated with the epg (using miroslav's sky epg scanner) and still got a few that are not populating. I tried deleting the ones that didn't populate and did a rescan, but still no go. I thought I would do a full clean rescan. I really don't want to delete the DB, but I do want a full epg on the channels I use and thought that a clean rescan may achieve it.

Where is the TV Channel DB held... I have just had a look through the files but cannot see much that seems to correspond.

    Hi there,

    It is weird that...

Have you checked for multiple occurances of the channel and got the right one selected?

    Hi Jay,

Have you checked for multiple occurances of the channel and got the right one selected?

It looks like you are thinking what I have been thinking. I can't find any multiple occurences, and the reason I think it isn't populating is due to the TV Channel DB possibly still having a double entry. I would like to check that first... but how?

This drastic action of clean rescan is all I can think of to rectify the situation.

    Hi again porky996t

The channels are held in a MySQL or SQL Server DB. I would not advise going and deleting data files from the file system as it could mess up the database entirely. If you want to explore what is in the DB but you're DB illiterate then use the import/export functionality in TV Server configuration to export everything, post the export here, and tell us exactly which channels are causing problems for you.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the suggestions. As always, I'm grateful for the input.

I was using a Sky TV EPG grabber developed by Miroslav, and just using it on its own for epg population.. I have now installed some separate add ons by DJBlu that uses Miroslavs Sky EPG grabber and then manipulates the epg data. I didn't realise that DJBlu's data grabber also provided full epg info as well; I thought it just allowed other devs to access the Sky epg data for their own purposes. My mistake

The upshot of all this is I now have a plugin in the TV Server config that allows me to grab the Sky TV epg and add it to different channel categories, which is great. It has also now given me a fully populated Sky EPG, without having to resort to drastic DB editing action.

    Thank you all.

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

Actually, you just reminded me of how I have handled this in the past: I merged the contents of an old export.xml with a new one to make a complete file containing the old values I needed and the new values I didn't want to change. Why should it matter if the export file is missing some values? I would expect the import process to...
