i can not seem to get my dell angel usb tv tuner to work w/ media portal the program recognizes the device but all i get is a black box...help please

i have a dell angel usb tv tuner. but when i open up My TV all i get is a black box....the setup wizards recognize the hardware by name and i can scan and get a list of available channels which are all the ones i am supposed to get but i can never get a picture i have another program named snappy soft for my tuner which works fine but i can not get media portal to work with my tuner
