    Ding ding... Hello??
Hi, it's the postman, with a package for you:
    Package.jpg LEDs Reel with connectors.jpg LEDs Connector.jpg

Shipping from Germany (ebay) took 4 days (including the weekend)!
Really nicely packed in anti-static package, inside a box. 4m 240 LEDs on the reel, with connectors on both sides.
The LEDs / strip are even smaller then i'd expected, nice and flexible + adhesive 3M tape on the back to stick them to the TV.
The wiring used on the LED strip for the connectors is 20AWG wire.

So damn curious how much light the LEDs give, but still waiting for my Arduino order.

Uhm sorry Homey but i think you bought the wrong Stripes... i cant see any WS2801 Controller IC beside the LEDs and there should also 4 wires for connecting the Stripes (Clock, Data, Ground and VCC).

    Nope, it's the new WS2812B LEDs ;)
brighter, cheaper (IC integrated in 5050) and only 3 connections (no clock).

Oh OK...didnt know that :)...does the Arduino/ Atmoduino support this type of controller? How much did you pay for the stripes?

Yes, here you can look @ a working Arduino project with those LEDs. It also describes the differences between the LEDs a bit (but the website is in Dutch).
I've attached the specs of the WS2812 vs WS2812B in my previous post.

How much did you pay for the stripes?
4 metres with 60 LEDs/m for € 79,- on ebay (great seller!) He also has 1m/2m lengths, black or white strip color and you can choose between 30 or 60 LEDs/m

I'm preparing my PSU, cables, etc. so i can continue the work as soon as the Arduino arrives, but i'm wondering what i need to put on that Arduino.
A bit lost with what the latest versions are and what sketch/library i should use.
    Any hints? ;)

So, you are afraid that you see the frame? Yeah, could be a problem.
My mother has a Samsung f6500, and its very nice and flat on the back, maybe led strips would be better. Also it seems that a frame might not even work with this type of tv. Never thought about that... Have a look at this picture:

At the bottom where the stand is connected, the plastic would interfere with the frame :(.

So if you really want to buy this tv, i would recommend led strips instead of strings and a frame.

I've received the TV today, and the stand won't be a problem, because I will be wall mounting the TV so that extra "bump"of plastic won't be there.

So I think I will go with the frame. Despite what you said, I will probably make the frame 10mm narrower than the TV on either side so that you can't see it so easily. Hopefully when I drill the holes for the lights, I can take this into account and position the holes accordingly
