just curious....i have a great many movies with no run time. i seem to remember that this was already mentioned for a future release fix? or was it supposed to be corrected with 0.6?

Yes, we made a fix to the runtime retrieval in the IMDb script, but I think you are right, it did not fix it for all cases. This looks like just an issue with the IMDb script though. Try the attached script and see if that helps. To load it in, in the config on the importer click the data sources tab and then click the plus button. Once it has been loaded you should be able to refresh your movies in the Movie Manager to pull in runtimes for movies that are missing the data.

Cool nice fix works for me :)

    Hi, new member here.
Must say GREAT Plugin, Im new to MP - have been running VMCE before.
Well I also had the problem with Hancock, and movies not gettting seen on import to watched folder, but I am having another issue too.

When i start MP and Moving Pictures all is fine, but after watching a movie (no matter how long) and pressing "stop" or "back" on remote to stop watching and return to Moving Pictures- In list view the greyish bar at the bottom sorrunding the movie info and cover is gone, wich makes it very hard to read the info. The same greyish bar wich indicates wich movie you have highlighted to the left is also gone.

I am using your standard skin with xface, maybe It is something in MP or my settings that is causing this.

It does not matter if I back out into main menu in MP and then go in to Moving Pictures again, I have to restart MP to get It looking like It is supposed to.

    Thankfull for any tips.

Ps: Movie matching on import is really really goood.

Hello, Im using MediaPortal 1.0 RC3 official release, no svn builds.
Can say that I use ffdshow as video codec, dont know if that can cause any issues like this.

playing with the new version i must say that i love it. Now i have two feature requests
    - i know i already talked about it on the Moving Pictures site but i thought i should explain more here. It s about fanart and coverart. The pattern used to look for fanart in the fanart folder is based on imdb number but yet you save them using the movie name and a number which has nothing to do with the imdb number. I wish we could save them with the imdb number so that if i delete my database the import will find the existing fanarts. Aboutthe coverart, it s almost the same thing. You look for folder.jpg but you save them in the coverart folder using another pattern. I also wish we could save them as folder.jpg in the movie folder. What do you think?
    - The other request is about sorting titles. I have a lot of foreign movies. And mostly i know the translated title, but Moving Pictures sort them with the original title. Could we add the translated title and have an option to sort using translated title? It would be a lot easier to navigate through the list. If you agree i will add a feature request.

There have been a few other reports of images not rendering properly in RC3, not just with Moving Pictures but across the board. Two questions though. First, are you certain after playback you are looking at the list view and not the details view? They look very similar, but the details view does not have the silver background for the movie details (we need to change this) and there is no list on the left. Second question, is this reproducible? Does it behave the same way every single time? If so it would help if you could post your MediaPortal logs (error.log and movingpictures.log at least) and maybe a screen shot of when the artwork is not rendering properly.

Thanks for the bug report, and sorry for the trouble.

Well we have a few reasons for the custom naming convention for backdrops and covers. The number you see after the movie title is actually a hash of the source of the image. This is used to determine if an image has already been retrieved from online (or the local file system). This means we can generate a unique and always the same filename based on a URL or file system path, helping to prevent duplicate images being loaded. This also prevents filename conflicts (if we had two backdrops for one movie for example). So I think we will not change it, it serves a useful purpose.

That being said though, your suggestion is kind of already in place. Moving Pictures knows it's own naming convention so if you rebuild your database, it will automatically reload any image files in your thumbs folder without having to redownload them or re-search for them.

As for titles, the title used really just depends on the data source used. Currently IMDb tends to list the original title first and the translated titles as "Alternate Titles". We have a field for that in the database, but the IMDb script currently doesn't pull this information (something probably not TOO difficult to add). But it would be hard to determine which alternate title should be used. If we could parse some additional information about each Alternate title maybe we could do it, but that would be tough to get to work for all data sources generically. If you'd like to create an issue for auto selection of alternate titles, go for it, but due to the level of difficulty to implement vs. payoff I think it would not get implemented for a while.

Tried out the new imdb.xml and it now finds all the runtimes. It also corrects the scores. For instance 63 becomes 6,3. Was wondering though if the plugin will do this automatically for all the files or will I have to do it manually?
Unfortunately, it doesn't save the scores correctly. After shutting down the plugin and restarting it's back to 63.
