You are mistaken, Moving Pictures has never retained view information between sessions, this is something that is stored only in memory, not in the database. It is possible to set the default view though, so if you want it to always start on the thumbnail view for example, you can do that. Take a look at the Advanced Settings.

You are correct! I have changed this before! Silly me who forgot...

It is turned off by default. Go into the Advanced Settings and look under "Local Provider". There is a setting called "Search Movie Folder for Cover Art". Change this to true. In the next release I think i am going to add some more friendly configuration settings to bring some of the stuff under the Advanced Settings tab to the main Config. This should make things much clearer then. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok! Did not know this. I will test!

I have a little problem using Aeon...
I normally use Aeon Skin... but it's not working here... If i click on "Show in Homescreen" i can't see it there.
If i click on "Show in plugins" i can see it there if i use a different Skin...
With Aeon (1.3 from the mediaportal homepage) the whole screen gets gray and i can't see anythin
Anybody else got this problem?
Greetings

This appears to be a change with RC3, and has been reported to occur in MyVideos and MyFilms as well. See this thread for details and a fix.

Your error.log lists a rendering problem with DirectX which is almost certainly an indicator of the problem you are describing. Moving Pictures (and very few, if any) plug-ins actually interact directly with DirectX though. This seems to me like it may be an issue with MediaPortal itself. If anyone else sees this issue let me know...

Just got 0.6 installed, and so far I'm liking it. Love the "text-input"-view. It's great, makes it alot easier to find a movie when I know the title, or some of it.
Also, the new default backdrop when no backdrop is found online looks great :D Much better than just a grey background.

Oh, and the newly added other sources are a succes. Version 0.5: Of around 100 movies: 17 had no Covers, 33 had no backdrops. Version 0.6: Still 100 movies: 2 has no covers, 23 has no backdrops.
Most of the movies that has no backdrops are old movies, where I did not expect the movies to have them, so it's all good :)

I found one little thing: On some of the movies, the backdrop was black when in list mode (if no backdrop is present, it should show the new default backdrop). When entering movie-info, the backdrop would sometimes appear. Switching between movie-info and list-view would then randomly have the backdrop and the black background appear. Sometimes it was black in list-view, sometimes in movie-info. It only happened with two of my movies, "Twister" and "Hancock".
I have not had time to try and restart to see if this resolves the issue.

Basically, this is a very solid release. To me it didn't add any ground-breaking new things (like the version where DVD-rips and .ISO where supported), but it just improved the plugin so this has gotten even better. I can't believe how fast this plugin has been developed from idea to actual working plugin.
Great job fforde and Armand, I can't wait to see what you can do with this, given enough time. :D

Or maybe Moving Pictures just uses more graphic resources than most other plug-ins and components? Like I said I will look into it and see what I can figure out, but it is difficult to fix a bug that I can not reproduce. I am not even sure where to start because, like I said, the plug-in does not interact at all with the graphics layer. Which again is why I think there might be something deeper at play here.

    Hey Guys,

    This plugin is great !!!

I just installed the latest version....copied the dll file over the old one and it took 2 minutes the first time to start and i know that it is normal.

My problem is that it doesnt recognize all my movies on my harddrive.
Thats not a problem if i could add a new movie myself to the database but that isnt possible.
If i click manual add nothing happens so i am stuck.
    What do i do??

Btw is the bug with movies like "Con Air" fixed as well?

    thanksss
