Yes I already guessed that which is why I removed it from the post. If you are expecting a number for that field then you ought to strip off any letters, if you convert a string s02 to an int thats what would happen. Maybe you shouldn't have bothered responding (not in that tone anyway) and fixed some of the bugs I already bought up instead? look into the parsing test appending results to the existing ones for a start.

Yes Sir, not sure why I didn't think of just stripping any letters, that is just ingenious, I'll get right on it. Can I get you something to drink too?

Seriously, why is this thread some sort of battlefield for nerds all of a sudden? If you don't *need* this plugin because you're happy with My Films you don't have to go into battle mode everytime there's an update about some actual work being done on this plugin, right? Don't you have something more important to do than this blatant flaming and plugin elitism?

Maybe My Films is a "better" written plugin than MPTV-series. But does the users care when MPTV-series imports everything without much fiddling about? (As long as you're not a user that *has* to fiddle with everything. )

It's the PC/Mac war all over again. I thought mankind had evolved. :p Please, let's just be friends.

As a very experienced user in this area I struggled to get the plugin to work which I found very frustrating, I'm not sure how many non-techie's will persevere? I had not used it before but saw it pop up on the MP homepage new plugins bit today so thought I'd give it a go. The config is incredibly complex with 100's of different options, including regexp and its own scripting language! Are there many people really this dedicated to work out how to use all these features for tv shows?

I guessed I needed to add the mediainfo.dll to the plugins/windows folder to get height/width imported (is this faq'd anywhere?). When importing there is zero response from the plugin until near the end I thought it had locked up! I deleted an entry in 'string replacement' and you get a casting bool to string exception. When I finally got some useful info into and ran MP the (monochrome) skin seemed to have very little of the info the example.jpg shows and text field overlay each other, I dunno if there is another skin anywhere? Also it 'defaults' to saying "no info due to spoilers!" so you have to go search for an option to turn that off! Why on earth would someone spend hours/days getting info imported to then have it hidden? (as the default option)

Basically I spent hours on it, cos the example.jpg in the excellent monochrome skin looked really good, the results I see in MP are terrible. I have not come on here to bash it, just to relay my bad experience as a new user of it. If I spent many more hours on it I'm sure I could have it looking great but I'm out of time, thx 4 the fish.

Worked first time, pointed to folder, asked it to parse, everything found.

Agreed, show info or not should be clear on the parse page itself as a default option, but otherwise it works out of the box.

Really wondering about your setup regarding naming, takes me about 2 minutes to setup and 30-35 minutes running whilst downloading episode info.

Please stop being so cynical, just because you cannot get something working, does not mean it's broke, just not working to how your mind perceives it.

I don't know the exact numbers , but it seems to work for hundreds and not to work for a couple of (loud) people who didn't really try or bother to ask for help. :/

But now I'm writing against the bitting I'm doing now: Please let this thread be a discussion about a possible plugin... not something about myFilms vs MPTVSeries, Windows vs Linux, Apple vs PC, Good vs Evil. It's sucking... I get everytime a stupid mail and I'm thinking that this time it must be something new... and everytime it's just an stupid "my way is better than yours".

    Please stop it!!!

Also never had any probs with this plugin, except for Dexter, which was named something like Dexter.S02.E01.avi.avi (!!!).

If I experience problems (or "just in case") I rename them s01e01 etc. and put them in a folder with name of series (-> Dexter\s01e01.avi) - no problem.

Could you perhaps cut 'n paste a filename that does not get parsed correctly?

MyFilms is probably good - but I never got it (or bothered to get it) working.

PS: I know many people who decided to use MP instead of MS MCE/VMC just because of this plugin (competing against MyMovies for MCE I think ...)

Keep up the good work Inker.

I guessed I needed to add the mediainfo.dll to the plugins/windows folder to get height/width imported (is this faq'd anywhere?).

Looks like it is missing from the latest package (2.0), Inker are you able to repost the release so new users can use this functionality....Im not sure what other un-expected results you may find without this dll.

There could be something mentioned in the wiki about MediaInfo e.g. where to download the latest version if having issues.

EDIT: Just read Readme.txt, and noticed you mention a link on where to download it now ;)

    Cheers,
    Damien

In for a penny in for a pound.

The importer is failing for a tv series that has an apostrophe in the name. E.G rename some files to (some mothers do 'ave 'em) and try importing them (I checked it exists at thetvdb.com)

Black Adder didn't get matched as on thetvdb.com it is listed without a space as BlackAdder. Maybe you can use soundex to give fuzzy logic matches (if interested you can see code I wrote for this, it's in pascal but that can be easily c#'d). That said maybe it would need to be done on thetvdb.com end.

Though I now have the data imported, the skin in the latest monochrome seems to not show much data and is all messed up with different text fields overlaying each other (I'm guessing this is because the monochrome skin is a month old and was aimed at an older version of MyTvSeries?). Are there any skins for MyTVSeries v2 preferably for monochrome skin? There is an example screenshot of how it should look in the Monochrome 1.7.744\MP-TVSeries folder which first prompted me to install it how do you get it to look like that?

I'm a dumbass and it installed easy as, pointed to a folder, told it to parse it and it worked no probs.
the only prob I had was the incorrect naming on my avi's, once I worked out things need to be stored on the MP machine corectly I was laughing.

enough "this V that", it's all good ;)

oh and PS. the show Blackadder is one word m8, rename the files on you'll be right.
