Would it be possible for the Extensions Plugin to do a background scan of all plugins at a configurable time interval (i.e. every X days at a set time), and when plugin updates are available, this status is emphasised in the Extensions plugin list?

The reason I ask, is becuase I think the plugin is excellent, but it is frustrating having to manually select each plugin in-turn and then check for updates and it would be much better if this was done automatically for the user. If the above scan was done, the Extension Plugin could even output a boolian 1 as a global variable which the skin could then use to indicate on the homepage that there are "Plugin Updates Available".

A great example of this is with the StreamedMP skin, where it checks for updates and then puts an icon on the home screen telling the user that updates are available. It is a brilliant addition!

robbo100, it already does periodic checks for updates on installed plugins. It uses the same settings as defined in MPEI Installer (see desktop shortcut).

Skins can also signal user that a particular plugin has an update and allows user to install it (completely up to the skinner ofc). This is already done for in some skins like aMPed, StreamedMP, Mustayluca e.g If TVSeries MPEI has an update you may see notification in the tvseries side menu.

OK, I see only one update, when i close mepo go the the mpei installer click on update download list or similar and than i can go back to mepo and the extensions installer shows me the update. In the mpei installer was set that he start every day a update for the list. But if I did not start it, he makes no updates.

I go only in hibernate, i do not shutdown my htpc. Is this the problem ?

In any case, I see in Mepo never had any Updates if I do not advance the update manuall in the mpei installer

^ Strange indeed. If I e.g. change view to "Updates", the latest updates are pulled from website. Same in other views (e.g. "Installed Extensions", "New Extensions" etc.)
Example: Just this morning I opened the "Installed Extensions", and after a few seconds it showed me that a new Trakt version was online, which I directly installed from the same GUI

Hm it's seem to be my problem... When i go in the GUI, i see no updates or new added plugins... I can wait there nothing happens. In the mpei installer, the update for showtimes was there, in the gui on mepo nothing...

@robbo100, it already does periodic checks for updates on installed plugins. It uses the same settings as defined in MPEI Installer (see desktop shortcut).

I have set the update check interval to 1 day. I too couldn't wait to see if it worked automatically, and mistakenly manually download update info using MPEI. When I went back into MP, the updates were showing. I will ask the StreamedMP skin author if he can put a more prominant indication that an update is pending.

Can you make an Popup in Home Screen like the Skin Update Logo, but here for an update for each plugin, this orange circle with the arrow ??

* Added a default list icon/thumbnail in case extension does not have a local/online icon. Skins can create what ever image they want in their skin media directory.

* Added visible condition for 'Update All' button in default skins. Will only be visible if there are updates available.

* Added Prompt to Restart when 'Update All' is clicked.

* Added a 'Download Updates' button, with this you can check for updates on your Installed Extensions or All Extensions. You can disable auto-updates from MPEI installer if you wish to manage manually from GUI only.
