If you can make a list of plugins and what property in that plugin that holds artist I will add support.

AWESOME! I am getting my Christmas present early Well, maybe not when you see how long the list is! I certainly don't expect you to have the time or energy to do all the plugins I listed. I just included everything I could for you to choose from.

Note, If you can manage all the ones with Note (1) - i.e. those where the artist name appears before a dash, then that would accomplish the most. My second priority would be for MyFilms.

BTW, what is #fanarthandler.music.overlay.play - listed in Wiki with no description?

I couldn't get the table to format correctly in this post, so I am attaching a zip of an rtf file.

And now Beta 3.7 is available.
* bugs corrected related to album and artist thums
* added new options in MP configuration of the plugin to make it possible to have for example Artist thums available when playing music or browsing albums but not when displaying random images (the music.any properties).

cul8er: What is the current path that this plugin searches for the Fanart folder? I'm using XFactor\Media\FanArt but it doesn't work like before.

X-Factor Fanart Directory is the folder "skins\xfactor\media\fanart\music"

Referring to the Wiki is only helpful if it is up to date with the current development.

I want the EXACT path please, so that I can test the plugin. I see "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Fan Art\fanart" and I see "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Skin FanArt\music".

This isn't really intuitive stuff you know.


Edit: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Skin FanArt\music" is the working path (in Windows XP) for anyone needing to find out.

My bad I have only kept the skinners guide up to date and that is not intended for end users. I will update the fanart handler user guide (Wiki) tonight with current screenshots, folders and text. Hope this didn't cause to big problems for you.

I found some time to gather my MP Logs. I hope they might shed some light on the fanart/non-fanart issue I'm having.

btw... I really like the fanart handler plugin, and will continue using it, and just put up with the non-fanart issue for now.

It looks like my issue may have also crossed over into MovingPictures... my backdrops have stopped displaying there altogether. But MPTV-Series is working just fine. The only recent changes to my 2 systems have been the addition of the SAF media filters and the OnlineVideos plugin, but I don't see how that would effect things, uninstalling it had no effect.

btw, for the logs, I had played 3 titles from a playlist, the first had one image of fanart, the second - none, and the third had multiple images. I stopped the third title midway to end MP to gather the logs.

i try v3.7b ,to see if any of the update brack somting thet was working fine ,and i find this :
if have a few fanart 2 and more ,all work good and cycle nice.

if no have fanart at all it still work fine (i means no problem with cycle)

if have only 1 fanart have some dime problam ,the fan art stay view cycle 1 time fine, cycle 2 time fine ,then from cycle 3 and more ,
the fan art dime evry time the cycle need to be chang ....is thir somting you can do ?

again if you dont have any fanart or 2 fanart and more all look good ,only if have 1 fanart from the 3 cycle the fanart dime evry time.

i was testing with only selected music fanart directory.

Hi,

Beta 3.8 is now available and in this version I have added support for music fanart in Global Search, mVids, Music Videos and YouTube.FM.
