    3.8 DID IT!!!!!

    :D:D:D

Nothing to do with the fanart handler, but there's an issue with the album thumbs at the transition as I can see them change before the fanart view transition begins.

    Best regards,

    Chuck

3.8 works great in Music Videos. I did not try Mvids. It also works in Global Search, but not in the Details screen (not much does work there :))

I could not get fanart handler backdrops to work in youtube.fm however. Neither .selected nor .play.

    Hi 2BitSculptor,

I really like that one;) but this is part of the logic I use. I allow for two missmatched anywhere in a string (to allow numbers after images etc).

So Enya if you replace two characters match Nena.... will see if I can fine tune but perhaps this is as close I will get now and fintuning can happen after version 1.0.

    best regards

    Hi Dadeo,

I will try to see why youtube.fm does not work and details in global search. Both works for me but there must be a bug somewhere;) I'll get back on this.

    cheers

Thanks Cul8er, just to ensure we are on the 'same page' I am using YouTube.fm.0.5.6 and GlobalSearch_1.7.0 on Vista Ultimate 32 bit and MP 1.0.2.

How did you configure fanart in Youtube.fm? I went back into Config and removed my previous setting and now it seems to be working very well in the main window (youtubevideosbase.xml). Youtube will always be hit and miss due to the way videos are named, but it is pretty excellent!

However, it still does not work in the now playing window (youtubeinfo.xml). In that window the artist name property is #Youtube.fm.NowPlaying.Artist.Name not #selecteditem.

Generally, things are looking really good so far but I can see I am going to have to get a lot more fanart!!!

Cul8er, thanks, that clears things up ;)

Maybe if you would allow 2 mismatches after the first character...., that would at least fix THAT one. :D

Hi Dadeo, did you try to put a define into the header like <define>#selecteditem:#Youtube.fm.NowPlaying.Artist.Name</define>?

Thanks Catavolt. Yes, I tried define codes for both #selecteditem using .selected and for #Play.Current.Artist using .play.

However, I found my mistake. I had removed the control for fanart in the xml (id 95) thinking it was not necessary with the fanart handler providing the backdrop. But I noticed I was no longer getting the similar videos list. When I added control id 95 back, the fanart handler works perfectly, even without a define code. So I just left it there with a blank texture and so far so good!

And I must say, it looks pretty fine!

Oh, and here's my latest favorite trick. If you use the awesome Showtimes plugin, you can set your backup folder in Showtimes Config - Advanced Tab. I changed it to thumbs\skin fanart\videos, so now I have fanart backdrop for movies that I can use in My Videos, or My Films, even before I get the movie! LOL! Thanks Nephilim (author of Showtimes Plugin)

I get some fanart matches that aren't really correct.

Playing back "Kent" shows fanart also for "Ken". If I would rename the jpeg something like "Ken1.jpg" instead of "Ken.jpg", would that fix it? Or "Ken_1" or even "Ken_.jpg"?
Other issues for me is that the fanart takes quite some time to load when you're in database/shares view, but very fast in NowPlaying. Perhaps my system is just slow. :)
