I thinkonce you've added your music into the music database via the configuration program you should be able to select the view of 'genre'

I'm trying to sort my collection by genre.

I added 1 folder to my collection. This folder contains several subfolders which contain albums and single for 1 band. All the files in this folder and subfolders are properly tag including the genre.

When I select the "Genres" view in "Switch View", I can see nothing. In fact, I tried the other views and I can see nothing. The only time I can see the albums and singles is when I selected the "Shares" view.

can you please help? thank you very much

    Please do not cross-post.

I have made a suggestion in your other thread, please continue your discussion there.

    Thank you :)

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? Actually, you just reminded me of how I have handled this in the past: I merged the contents of an old export.xml with a new one to make a complete file containing the old values I needed and the new values I didn't want to change. Why should it matter if the export file is missing some values? I would expect the import process to...

In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...
