Good point, how can I check that?

Edit: The flickering doesn't show up in the EPG screen, but it does in some other screens. Sorry...

Problem is back here with the latest SVN and the latest ATI drivers. Had no problems with it on RC3 and i think ATI drivers 8.8 or 8.9. I need to check that!

On my development PC I have had the same issue with every single 8.x driver.
Well, did a reinstall of Vista32bit, Catalyst 8.9, MP RC3, SAF301 and the problem isn't there anymore.

My personal solution for flickering GUI

I´ve found the ultimate Solution for this "flickering GUI with MP EVR DXVA" issue!

This is not a bug but a FEATURE of MP3 to monitor easily if your hardware acceleration is working :D

Now I am happy with my flickering gui, it does not disturb me anymore!

Think positive and learn from Microsoft`s politics ;)

@ Snader: what is SAF301??? I am afraid your DXVA is broken, that´s why you do not have this issue... sorry

Hey guys I actually do have a solution... Its in a skin.... Basically I use a skin that sets the picture to the background all the time. Using the autobackground plugin and then just use texture overlays to make it look all glassy, so you get to see the image but also get a very cool alpha effect. Having the content as background almost completely eliminates flicker.. Heres a look at the skin... Will give it to the mepo public soon, its based on blue-two with some blue3 features..

SAF30x is a small filterpackage. You can find it in the codecs support forum (search for standalone filters).

DXVA is not broken. When watching HD content, graphedit shows DXVA is working perfectly.
At the moment I have deinstalled the SAF codec package and installed a VISTA coded pack (v5.02). Problem is still gone. Seems to me it has something to do with the ATI drivers in combination with DirectX

The flickering was back here when installing and selecting the PowerDVD8 Mpeg filter for viewing with DXVA enabled for MPEG2. So when I select the powerdvd mpeg filter for let say TV the flickering is everywhere, where the TV is minimalized to the bottom left. When using this filter for AVI's with mpeg2 encoding, I get the same problem. By switching DXVA off for MPEG2 in Mediaportal config - directshow filter control - powerdvd * decoder settings, the problem is gone!
