I use a GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard (for AMD) with an ATI video card build in...

I just realize yesterday, that, after changing the MPEG2 codec for the TV (no more the NVIDIA codec), I got no more flickering!

if that could help

Which codec did you change to? I think the flicker is only with hardware accelerated codecs like nvidia, cyberlink, etc.

Im using Elecard right now.... but in fact... I cannot find the right one! Seem that Nvidia was the best one from my point of view, but it bug the the prog.

I tried to setup ffdshow (lot of option)... but it wasnt a success on my setup and got interlacing problem with SD signal... HD was quite good...

Im still seaching for the right solution...if some can help...

It is a little bit reduced (seems). Not so heavy as in the video. But still flickers.
YouTube - Mediaportal flickers with ATI-cards using EVR

Odd as for me the issue is now cured. I still need to test what cured the issue but I'm pretty sure that its the change that gibman did to the tv plugin -> Process() wich is used rendering is not constantly trying to poll TVE3 status (wich is definately too slow when compared to frame rendering).

Do you have any 3rd party plugins installed?

So this wouls still point in direction of peformance issue. Could you try to use lower screen resolution to see if it still reduces the flickering?

Can you also look into this thread? It is related to this problem, I think.

Im pretty sure that this isnt related issue.

There is not much difference if I increase or decrease the resolution (Default: 1270x720, tested from 800x600 up to 1920x1080). The GPU can render up to 1920x1080 with no flicker if I use a software codec and the gui runs fluid with 50fps (tested with Arte HD).

Can you see the red record-button in the Youtube-Video in the EPG? If there is no red button displayed the flickering is decreasing. ^^

As I said: I don't have problems with other DVB-application using EVR and hardware acceleration. But I like Mediaportal more than the others.

And about "performance". I made a test with DVB-Viewer: Decoding a 1080i-channel with Hardware Acceleration takes only 2% cpu-power!!!! (the whole process DVBViewer.exe). ^^
