Hi.

I don´t understand how-to work GraphEdit. I created a graph, and where I need to save it to work with MediaPortal?

When put for example any AVI file into GraphEdit this show (read-only) and I can´t edit the codecs.

But I don´t understand. If I need to change the codec used to play avi or mp3 file, how I can change it with graphedit if this said read-only and the file not is read only.

Mediaportal cannot use the graphs build by GraphEdit. You must change the filter merits with some program (for example with Filmerit).

You are now entering a place that seems to have many answers, mostly these are pitfalls which can cause major problems with your system, the one guaranteed working solution that works if all else fails for both xp and vista is the Vista codec pack, designed by shark007, these tend to integrate well with the Operating System and allow you to use a independent mpeg2 codec, ie PowerDVD 7\8 and seem to be about as minimalistic as you can get, one day may delve into the registry entries he creates on the install, but they definately work if you have enough reasonable cpu\gpu power and also are customisable as well.

Remember all of these supplied codec packs are freely available as individual codecs, it really is down to how they react with windows itself that makes them so good.

hoborg is also working along these lines, using the MPC-HC (media player classic home cinema), which can produce hardware acceleration, if your graphics card drivers support it, this is under development, and hopefully will mature into quite a nice setup, as it looks pretty promising even now, for those that have the hardware to support its use.

For the first example, I highlighted the example text and eventually found the location in the menus where I could select the CODE macro to have the example text formatted as a code example. So far, so good...
