I'll have to check out that IFC, looks interesting. What I did to eventually solve that is tell my STB (Verizon FiOS cable) to just send everything as 1080i, and to leave SD alone (it ends up scaling it up to fill screen with black box on the sides). That solved almost all the aspect ratio issues expect for letterboxed TV shows but those look crappy if i scale them *even further* to fit the screen anyway.

I whish my STB would support that but saddly it doesn't. That means even my SD recordings take huge amounts of gigs

So do you all have the same issue as DW in that you can't set the frame size on the "settings" tab for the Colossus in TV Server configuration?

Yeah I can't change anything on that tab. I'm using analog connection (haven't gotten around to trying HDMI yet) if that matters any.

I have only use the MCE blaster.

0 Go to the Device Manager and make sure that both receiver and transmitter drivers are installed.
1 Make sure receiver and transmitter is set in IRSS config,
2 in TV server config, activate IRSS plugin.
3 Go to the plugin config page
4 In the bottom right tab, there's an "STB Setup" button.
5 In that windows, select the card you want to blast,
6 Select one of the two dish Quick Setup (one of them will probably work, since the STB often share remotes)
7 In the windows that will pop up, select either blaster port 1 or 2, select the all checkbox and click ok.
8 Test the blasting, making sure it's aiming at the right place and that the codes work.

Repeat steps 5-8 for the other card/stb, select the other port on step 7.

As for the watermark, I don't remember the actual method I used for removal,
but this website might have some information about that.

I know kilik360 was talking about using arcsoft to set the bitrate in our PVs.... that might just be a hint in the right direction...
