Please help. I'm using MP 0.2.3.0 I just added a 2nd tv tuner card, Hauppauge HVR 1600. To avoid problems, I disabled my working kworld card. Using the configuation setup I can add the Hauppauge card and scan for channels.

Problem 1: MP is only picking up the analog cable, not the digital cable.
Problem 2: Although I can see the channels in the setup preview window, when I go to MY TV within MP I only get a blank screen. I tried using different frame sizes, "720x480 NTSC ITU-601 D1 (recommended) - this works with my Kworld card" and "704x480 NTSC TV broadcast". Both with Frame rate: "29.97 fps (NTSC)". I also tried all off the different MPEG-2 Video Codecs that I have (HCW MPEG2 decoder, Intervideo video decoder, Nero Video decoder, Nero DVD decoder, Nero Video decoder HD, InterVideo NonCSS Video decoder for Hauppauge, Hauppauge WinTV MPEG2 Muxer, Nero MPEG2 encoder, Intervideo multiplexer, Intervideo multiplexer (not sure why its listed twice).
Problem 3: If I was able to get Hauppauge and the kworld working together, how do I control which tuner is in use?

Hello!
1 - You need to install the last version of MP to get the Digital (QAM) channels working in the HVR 1600.
(also Digital channels can be encrypted from cable provider.)
2 - You need to add the channels to the card in a section of MP setup called - Televition/TVChannels/TVcard. <----- the path!
and 720X480 NTSC (recomended) is the one you want.
3 - what do you mean? Whit the remote control? anyway, when both are working you just add channels to TVChannels in MP setup,m the remote control MP, not the tuner.

Hope it helps!
Cheers!

Felo, thanks for the help. I was able to get both analog tuners working. I'm sticking with 0.2.3 for now but I did download load the latest version. That will be a project for another day.

So now I've updated to 1.0.0.0 RC2. I'm still having problems with my Hauppauge HVR 1600. I'm good with the analog cable, its the digital cable that wouldn't work. MP identifies the card, but when I use the autotune option I don't get any channels. I know my cable company transmits analog, encrypted digital and unencrypted digital.

When picking Digital chanels there are a few options, From STD to (dont remember the other ones)
But they are like 5, just try each one, for me worked like the 3d one. (but i dont have the 1.0 RC installed, so dont remembe the name.)

Hope it helps.

When adding digital channels, I do not have any options. I have frame size and rate options for the NTSC card. Could this be what you were thinking? If I use the hauppauge's wintv app, I do get about 30 clear QAM channels.

There is an option like this "STD, HRC, HRC+3 and IRC" (i think is like that) so so youll scan using Standart (STD), or HRC, etc...
It Suposed 1 will do the job. (but like i said, not sure where this option is bcouse dont have the 1.0 RC installed.)

Cheers!

I am also having problems getting digital OTA (ATSC) channels using the Hauppauge HVR-1600 (non-MCE edition, no FM radio)

Tested with both MediaPortal 1.0.2, and 1.1 beta

Using the drivers off the CD, TV Server detects both halves of the tuner fine. Analog works, but ATSC does not.

When trying to scan for digital channels, it quickly goes through the whole list with "No signal detected"

Digital channels work fine with WinTV 6 so I know the hardware and antenna are good.

Upgrading to latest Hauppauge drivers (18drv_27148) seem to make the problem worse, as then TV Server no longer detects the card.

Error Trying To Watch TV

Hi everyone,
many of you have commented that you got the analog to work? Maybe a little help here? I don't have ATSC channels, just Analog, but MP does detect both sides of the card.
In the TV Setup I can view channels in the preview, however, I when i go into MP i only see a black screen and i get an error: unable to play: live2-0.ts.tsbuffer
anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for your help!

I have a Hauppauge 1600 and it works fine in the BeyondTV Trial.:D

I think 1.38 is easier, it's a minor addition, judging by the lack of bugs, 1.39 is still a long way off. Ideally, the TuningParameters settings would be moved to MPE1, along with all the skins. Then any minor fixes could be updated quickly.
