HDTV stutter (1 Viewer)

Have you done some driver upgrade/downgrade back and forth many times?

I tried some drivers to see if it made any difference. I also de-installed them before I did a new driver installation.

I'm had the same problem for ages, at least since MP 1.10: SDTV plays fine, but HDTV is stuttery.

I'm using DVBviewer to watch HDTV because it works fine.

It's been like this despite numerous driver updates and is very frustrating.

Far from an ideal solution of course. But I'm gonna try that program.

Are there orher people that have these EVR issues?

I think the GPU a little underpowered, at least if you output 1080p. You will probably have problems with 1080i HDTV.

I can suggest you to try windows 7 which is a little bit more optimized than vista.

In windows 7 I have the same problem. I don't have this problem with my 1080p movies.

If I record a HD program and play it back with another program, I don't have this issue also. So only in mediaportal.

You do not have the problem with 1080p because they're not interlaced, that's what I mean. Deinterlacing is a more GPU hungry task.

As for not having the problem outside mediaportal, your GPU is probably underpowered to play 1080i at 1920x1080 IN MEDIAPORTAL, I suspect (not certain through).

For instance my ION 9400 onboard is not capable of doing it, so I suspect is for your 9300 (althrough probably architectures are different).

Best to do is to find someone who has your GPU and compare results.

My 8400 has same G98 chip generation and My HD & SD playback are fine. No dropped frames and shift+1(=!) graph is good.

And if my 9300 is underpowered, which Nvidia card should be suitable for my needs?
