Since this thread is getting a bit long, maybe it is time for a sum up of the bugs known to the developers.

    1. Seeking fails on some TVE3 recordings

    2. Seeking is really slow on some TVE3 recordings

    3. Slow startup / seeking failing on recordings wich contain PCR rollover

    4. Player current position is sometimes getting mixed up (live tv at least)

    - Confuses DVB subtitles as the correct file position is needed
    - Sometimes TsReader reports incorrect position for the media playback.

    5. After changing a channel video sometimes freezes (audio is ok)
    - No additional information at this time. I have seen it couple of times, but haven't been able to get the logs from that event
    - Many users have been also reporting this issue

Users: Please provide more logs for this issue
Getting logs is easily done using MPTestTool2.exe (found in MP dir).

    6. Changing channels between mpeg1 and mpeg2 audio channels leads to missing audio for about 5-10 seconds (bug not present in multi-seat). Seeking across such a channel change is not possible (but timeline gets confused about current playback position).

    - Missing audio only occur in single-seat.

    7. Some TVE3 recordings are crashing TsReader & MediaPortal

    -----

If you experience bugs not mentioned in this list (or if we missed your report), please submit a report. Your help debugging this filter is much appreciated.

    Thanks!

I'll try to post some logs tonight. I fly to South America for six weeks in four days, so things are pretty hectic at this end in preparation. Not to mention the difficulties in getting housemates off MP so I can actually test.

To add some further information, using MyVideos the recorded programs work correctly although the timeline doesn't work. Usually gets stuck at around 3-5 minutes but everything else seems fine. FF, REW and skipping works well though.
When watching on the server, all works exactly as it should.
I guess the corrupt timeline must be the cause of issues in the recorded TV section although MyMovies seems fine with it.

I just had a problem when I recorded a show on Disney Channel using mpeg and 4 audio streams only two streams got added to the recording. This happened using rev 16533.

Will do some more testing but maybe others can see if they can reproduce this issue?

TsReader has nothing to do with the recording process. It's possible that your broadcaster is using dynamic PIDs and couple of missing audio channels weren't present in the stream when the recording started. Please, have a look following thread:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ts_recording_format_data_missing-t19316.html

Cool, can this patch of yours be used in the current svns? :D

    Hi,

I am using TsReader now since a while in prime time and it works great. :)
However, from time to time a have a similar problem as you have mentioned above with one difference: the video AND the audio stops. :(
I just had this issue again and saved all logs with the MPTestTool. Please find them attached.

    Here are the details:
    - MediaPortal-svn--08-17-2007--01-00-Rev15568.exe
    - tvengine3-08-17-2007--17-08h--Rev15578.zip
    - TT S2-3200 with 5.0.0.2
    - single seat

    What happened:
    - I watched a channel
    - Suddenly, the video and the audio stopped, MP seemed to be frozen
    - However, I could go back to home screen by pressing EXIT and STOP
    - I exit MP and saved the logs.

    Hi,

I have logs for both single-seat and multi-seat configurations using the TsReader filter.

    Version details:
    - tvengine3-08-16-2007--01-22h--Rev15546.zip
    - MediaPortal_0.2.3_RC1.zip
    - MediaPortal-svn--08-16-2007--01-00-Rev15546.exe
(I know these are a few days old, but I don't think the issues have been reported as resolved yet)

When in single-seat, the logs capture an inital freeze of audio and video.
I then turned off the TV and re-selected the same channel. This resulted in picture perfect TV :)
These logs are in the file MediaPortalServer.zip
Most of the time the single-seat operation is great.

When in multi-seat mode using the TsReader filter, the client is crashing.
The log files from the client are in MediaPortalClient.zip
If I disable the TsReader filter (rename the file c:\useTsReader.txt) then the TV is operational but it does intermittantly stutter.
If anybody has any experience getting the TsReader filter to function in multi-seat mode I would be very grateful of ideas.
Other testing on the client in multi-seat mode has resulted in MediaPortal freezing rather than crashing.
When either a crash or freezing occurs, the TvServer is still timeshifting. This can be manually stopped using the TvServer management console.

    Cheers

    Matt

i still cannot playback ts HD files either mpeg2 or h264 encoded. At least with this new one MP does not crash, it tries to play the file but nothing happens.

I am using the following codecs and software.

    MPEG2 decoder: NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder
    H264: ffdshow_rev1381_20070729_clsid

MP Version 0.2.3_RC1 with SVN Rev15610 and NO TVServer.

I was under the impression you have to use TVServer to watch h264. At least it has never worked for me in TVE2, only TVE3.
