Mediaportal runs fine on my PC, I can watch my videos... But how do I go about reading these videos from my TV ? what are the networking requirements ?

Thanks, but is there a way to network this ? My Mediaportal PC is located in the basement...
I've been reading up on HDMI 1.4 and ethernet, is that feasible ?

    Options:
    * another Client near to your TV
    * Wlan HDMI (never tried it, i guess you will loose quality)
    * when you have SmartTV than you have maybe also an option

    As above

    - Move MePo PC to lounge
    - Client PC in the lounge
    - HDMI extender. You can get 10m with a long HDMI cable any longer than this and the signal isn't strong enough.
For longer distances you can get an HDMI signal amplifier or an HDMI-Ethernet (Cat5e) adapter, or an HDMI wireless adapter.

SmartTV - This will not be an option with MP1, but when MP2 is complete it will support uPNP/DLNA so you can connect a DLNA/uPNP enabled TV to MP2 over the network

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

I am running a Xubuntu machine as a server with all my movies and series on it, I run a VirtualBox VM with Windows 10 installed on the virtual machine and MP1 client installed on that. MP runs fine on the VM but I no longer have a tv tuner to test if passthrough is possible. I don't think it would work anyway.
