Not possible yet withing MP itself (1.0.1 will bring a change to this). Currently you can use some external 3rd party tools like reclock to change the display refresh rate based on the video fps.
If you have a AMD gfx card you can always create a profile, and put a shortcut on the desktop, then map some buttons on the remote to these shortcuts. And just press them before you start the movie.
OK, just to make it clear to me how this works.
Doesn't MP detect the intended framerate in the videofile and changes to that framerate for that videofile? For instance, a movie with an intended 24p will automatically show 24fps, a NTSC moviefile will automatically show 29 fps and a PAL movie will show 25 fps.
Now, when I want to show these files perfectly on my new Panasonic plasma, I (ideally) need my tv to use a refreshrate of 96hz with 24p movies; 89.91hz with NTSC movies and 100hz for PAL movies.
My question here is, does a tv detect the sent fps and changes its refreshrate accordingly?
And what's the part of a grafics card here? Does a graficscard change a 24p signal into 96hz and then sends it to the tv or something?
I'm a bit lost here
Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

I have also had this problem in the past. There are two components to this problem:

The network adapter in the HTPC has "Wake on Lan" enabled. So at the end of a recording, the HTPC transitions from away mode to...
