wow, posted a month ago , seems I missed this post...
are you still in need for an answer solitar ? or did you figure it out already ?
Hi LimpWhizKid

No I'm good thanks. I use Sharkys codec pack, setting MPC-HC as the default for everything, then controlling codecs from within MPC. Unfortunately the latest rev which I installed on the HTPC didn't register the MPC-HC filter correctly. Once I did a regsvr32 on the dll, I could then re-select it in MP, and all good

Thanks for the reply tho

limpwhizkid, why did you ditch the floppydtv?

i'm using 1 now in my win2k8r2 server.

thinking of upgrading my server to win2k13 though ;)

it wasnt that stable, 4 firewire cards interlinked... sometimes one failed... or when 3 where in use, MP could lock up , never could find the cause, but , it seems to be floppydtv related since i dont have any problems now with the new stuff when there are 4 channels in use, pcie is better then firewire :D

just got tired of firewire troubles.. :D.
Also , i dont need a card repeater to duplicate my smartcard to all tuners.(hmm .. that could be the cause aswell , its wireless)
just one card for 4 tuners is a way better solution , all the heat from 4 tuners on firewire is gone now..

i wanted to try that too .. but that will be next month ... on windows 2012 server..

1 ziggo card and 4 tuners?
hmm, really interesting.

i want that! :)

is the explanation for that in your previously posted link?

thats why i made the manual, its not rocketscience to install , but to have a manual makes you feel more confident i guess to actually get it and install it, and proof that it works before you spend some money helps :D

here is the link again (i included the actual ordernumbers from Digital devices aswell) :

i noticed, looked it up as well.
300 bucks is a lotta money!

is the card faster than the floppydtv?
    Is whatching HDTV better/higher quality?

I still have some signal loss sometimes and stuttering TV from my server (even though i have my stream on a dedicated 15k SAS hdd)

thats why i was hesitant aswell , 300 bucks.. indeed.. but really, its worth it... cant say otherwise..
with this card, you have what you always wanted... bugfree mediaportal

the card is indeed faster, and i did notice a better picture also (first thing i noticed, even the wife noticed that)..

I dont have any stuttering anymore as did happen with the firewire cards..

i run my streams from a SSD drive, but that shouldnt make any difference with a 15k sas

    really happy with it..

hmm... the better picture seems CAM firmware related..
(your question about better picture got me thinking, so i tried some things)...

i have several cams... when i use a version with 3.12 firmware(yeah very old) the picture is not so crisp then with the 3.19 or up firmware.. the difference is visible easy... so cant credit the cine ct for this :D

Well, i have v3.19 as well.
I try to update the channels every week, since ziggo is changing the modulation lately.

i must say that my image is more stable since i put the dedicated HDD in my server though.
Just now and then my client plays the audio and the image is frozen...really weird. Changing channel or stopping/starting tv solves that.

well easy fix... mine crashed 2 on v3.19 ... just update to 3.23 and all will be fine!! (or downgrade to anything but v3.19)
