I am a newcomer. Can anyone tell me if I can bring up a time bar when playing a TV recording or live TV and click on the bar to jump forward or backward to other points of the recorded program.

    Hi Herman,
Welcome to MP. I've looked for this myself, but haven't found it. That doesn't mean it's not there, one thing I'm learning about MP is that it really runs pretty deep. I did find something in the wiki.
This is far from the answer, but I wonder it it's a hint that may this could be found in a different skin? This is a speculation and way above my paygrade but it could be worth checking into. I have run SteamMP and it's not in there. Good luck and report back it you find someting.

The tools I have found to navigate recordings are of course ff, skip (the right and left, arrows and you can do multiples to increase the skip length) and bookmarks.

    Hi,
you can add your recording folder to video section and watch the recording from there. The keyboard shortcuts for video section provide jump to a specific position with the 0-9 number keys.

Pressing the left or right key is the fastest way of jumping forward in chunks of time. You can set the appropriate intervals in the MP Config.

    I hope this helps

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

Can anyone tell me the step-by-step procedure for bringing up a second channel in pip mode? I can only do it sometimes, after many tries, and it’s not clear what I am doing that makes it work on those occasions when it does. Cannot find guidance on the site. Thanks, N. Again, if anyone knows how to do this, would be much...

I compliment you on the thoroughness of your investigations. (y) Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas what the problem might be. :( Perhaps someone else will post with some suggestions. -- from CyberSimian in the UK
