How and where can I see what channels are new (added) after I scan for channels again?
As far as I can see they all get mixed through the existing channels...:(

    I have a similar question:

Is there any way the the total channel list (from which you select individual channels to go into channel groups) can be split into different lists for each card. When I am putting together a channel group, it is really difficult to tell which channel is from which capture card. Especially when some capture cards return multiple items for the same channel.

    Thanks

I managed to solve this issue temporarily using a SQL Server script I launch everytime I update the channels.
Basically I have a DVB-S card filling tons of channel in group 2 and a DVB-T card which puts channels in the "All channel" group only..
I have created a "dvb-t" group (it has id of 3) and use this script:

    Code:
INSERT INTO GroupMap (idGroup, idChannel, SortOrder)
SELECT 3, idChannel, SortOrder FROM GroupMap
WHERE idChannel NOT IN (SELECT idChannel FROM GroupMap WHERE idGroup <> 1)

This basically adds every channel only in group 1 (All channels) to group 3.

I know it's a kludge.. and may also not work for you (above all, I'm no SQL expert :))

    Sharing anyway.

I don't understand, what's the use of adding the channels of the 'all channels' group to a new group?

I'm not adding all the "All channels" channels to a new group.. just the channels which aren't already in other groups.
Since DVB-S cards can create groups by satellite, you can get only terrestrial channels in that group.

    Another, better, solution might be:

    Code:
INSERT INTO GroupMap (idGroup, idChannel, SortOrder)
SELECT 3, idChannel, SortOrder FROM GroupMap
WHERE idChannel IN (SELECT idChannel FROM ChannelMap WHERE idCard = 2)

which should add in group 3 all the channels of card 2..

I will try them later and let you know if it does the job :)

Sorry, you lost me :) I have no programming knowledge at all :( I have a DVB-C card. Are groups with DVB-S and terrestrial channels handled differently?
Or do you mean that you create from the 'all channels' group a new group, then you scan and after that you use the SQL Server script to compare the 2 groups, and the channels that are present in one group but not in the other are added to a third ('new channels')group, is that it?

What I want to accomplish is the following:
After a scan all new channels are mapped to the DVB-C card and automatically added to the 'All Channels' group.
(I guess) new channels are not automatically added to the other groups.
After a scan I would like to see the newly added channels in one way or the other so I can preview them and add them to the groups I want them into.
    Is this possible?

I suppose technically it isn't even managing groups, but a way of managing the complete list of channels with filters such as

    "Tuner A"
    "Tuner B" etc
    "Newly Added Channels"
    "Most Used"

    or something like that.

Is there really no way already available in MP to spot new channels?
How is anybody otherwise suppose to manage groups and place channels in preferred groups if you can't see what channels are newly added to the "All Channels" group?
I can't imagine the devs didn't think of that...

I should point out that the developers have not formally left the project, and development has not formally stopped. The developers have instead simply "faded away", gradually spending less and less time on MP2 until the present, when they spend no time on MP2. But one or more of the developers might return next week! It is impossible...

FYI, you can also play with these settings: show TV Server Configuration shortcut => Right-click => Properties => Compatibility => Change High DPI settings That way you don't have to change the whole scaling of Windows just for this particular application

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
