How-To use Comskip to cut out commercials via MediaPortal (1 Viewer)

I am wondering if this tutorial is still accurate for the current 0.2.2.0 and SVN builds of MediaPortal? I'd like to give it a shot but I wanted to pose this question first.

Should be still working, even with latest SVN.
If not, I think you are predestinated for testing this.

Just need to upload it again, seems to be a deadlink.

Sounds like it! I hope it works with plain dvr-ms files

Hopefully I can find or figure out a working comskip.ini file for ATSC and analog US recordings...

Please be aware, this How-To is still about using Mpeg files!

Though comskip can run dvr-ms files, there is no cutter, that will cut out the commercials.

The dvr-ms cutter Erik developed didn't work on my system, just get error messages

Has anyone successfully setup Comskip in conjunction with Comclean to detect and then remove commercials from recorded TV programs with MedialPortal single user current user and latest SVN? If so can the setup, scripts, etc, be posted here? My wish is to record TV programs then when I watch the the result after Comskip and Comclean have done their thing I see TV programs with commercials removed. I was using DVRMSToolbox with MS Media Centre Edition which incorporated Comskip, ShowAnalyser and automatically removed commercials and i would like to do something similar with MediaPortal. Has anyone done the DVRMSToolbox thing with Mediaportal so that commercials can be automaically removed?

I'm doing Comskip + Mencoder to automatically convert+remove commercials from the recordings. Works good.

Mencoder can read and convert dvr-ms files directly, so no need for a middlestep.

I guess you were expecting my next question - have you got a description on how to set it up - Comskip and Mencoder working with MediaPortal?

I had a look at your OnFile description 22 October but need more help on how to set up Comskip (and Comclean if needed) to automatically produce a Commercial-free file of a recorded programme from MediaPortal single user. How is your write-up going? It looks like it has the right solution. I worked for ASEA as it was then called in Västerås. Now of course part of ABB.

I installed Comskip yesterday and it works great on existing recordings (when I manually drag and drop them onto comskip.exe) but it doesn't run automatically after a programme has recorded I have enabled the plugin in TV Server and set it to run after recording is finished but nothing happens (also tried enabling it in MPSetup - same result). I tried using OnFile Monitor but nothing happened... Any ideas?
