I moved my 720p TV to the bedroom and would like to hook up a quiet PC to it for MediaPortal. Can anyone suggest something that is cheap and known to be stable for MediaPortal?
For cheapest build you probably need to build a custom pc yourself. there are plenty of threads already to suggest what to put in it. To save money you might get a motherboard with integrated gfx.
The Asrock 330 is good, but not silent. I wouldn't want mine in the bedroom. The PSU makes a horrible whistling noise when the PC is on standby, for a start

Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this.
