I have tested the new Hybrid Feature of the tv-server3 with my Hauppauge HVR-4000 (DVB-S + DVB-T). But it seems not to work. If I add one or more tuners to a hybrid card I'll get the message 'Unknown channel' while trying to start the timeshift manually.
Of course when I delete the hybrid card, the tv-timeshift will work. But that will not solve the problem of hybrid cards, because I think the hybrid-card feature sould make it possible that the tv-server manage the tuners, so that only one tuner is locked and one unlocked. Otherwise it won't work.
I have found already some simular threads, but I think this will describe it a little more concrete. Simular Threads:

Maybe this problem is already marked as bug, but when not it would give me a great pleasure if you do it. Because I am from Austria and after 4. June the terrestrial television will be sent only via dvb-t. So I need a solution for hybrid-tv, to look dvb-s and dvb-t at the same time.

Thank you for support,

Humer Thomas

I've tried the hybrid feature with the hvr 4000 a few times, without success. At the moment I run only the DVB-S part of this card, by either disabling the analog and DVB-T portions or not assigning any channels to them.

I've just set up a hybrid test, logs attached showing attempt to tune to True Movies which should use the DVB-S portion of the hybrid, but doesn't.

Earlier tune to BBC1 on non-hybrid DVB-T SOHO works.

It's a known problem that I discovered months ago.
Don't know if it has been added to Mantis yet.
Hauppauge 1300 here.

I hope it will be solved next time. Now i avoid this problem by using 2 cards. The Hauppauge HVR-4000 only for DVB-T and the Hauppauge NOVA-S Plus for DVB-S. So i can look both signals simultaneously.

I'm new with TV3 and I've the same problem.
My cards are 2 hvr-1300 and the behavior is the same than described by thumer. The error messages than I receive are:
    - From TVServer Setup -> Manual Control -> Start Timeshift: "unknow channel"
    - From MP -> My TV: "Unable to start Timeshift. Unknown channel"
After deleting hybrid cards all work fine again.

same problem with hvr3000, if i enable hybrid option then unknown channel in preview view, manual control or MP.

After delete hybrid card all work ok but i chnge dvb-s to dvb-t or dvb-t to dvb-s, error unkown because the tunner is locked. We need that the hybrid option work .

Great work MPTeam thanks by your fantastic soft and sorry for my english.

I used to have this problem when I my HVR-900 in a hybrid group.
Now I installed it on two other computers and get it always!
I have the card on a slave master.
    When I preview it works.
When I start a timeshift tv server it works on a third client HTPC, but on the slave server MP just closes.
When I try to watch a channel as normally, I get the message, both on the client and the slave server PCs. On the master server I don't have a tv card (or Mp client) yet.

    Someone has some clues?
My support request is yet unanswered:

    Hi,

I'm seeing the same error as described by thumer at the start of this thread - I've also seen several posts where Hauppauge users are having trouble with the hybrid feature. I get the impression no one knows if the problem ever got any dev attention so I figured the best thing to do was give this informative thread a bump.

To summarise the issue: HVR-4000 (and others) will not function correctly when grouped as a hybrid card. When grouped, attempts to preview a channel fail with "unknown channel" errors, as do attempts to tune to channels in MP itself. Ungrouping the card solves the issue, but introduces problems when switching between channels on different tuners ("unable to start timeshift" errors).

My specs are below and tv.log attached. I'm happy to assist in any way I can to help troubleshoot this.

    Thanks for a great product!
    Chris
