Thanks chemelli! That was exactly what I did

I have some problems still that I discussed with Pretorian via irc yesterday, might be connected to my specific system though. I will try to report back as soon as I had some more chance to debug...

    Hi there,

I am using MediaPortal for quite a while now (coming from XBMC ond Xbox) and one of the things that I haven't really gotten to work as I would like them to is the remote...

I own an Antec Fusion case (with Soundgraphs Imon+Imon Pad) + Logitech 885...and I nearly have given up on this combo. When I set up the system I used the Remote Server Suite that was available at that time, which kind of worked but shut down my display...

At the moment I am trying to get the Imon software to do what I want (together with the latest MiniDisplay debug version) - this gives me a working display but the remote is really flakey. When using the original Imon Pad all is almost well, the mouse knob they use on these remotes is a pain when used as directional keys though. When using the 885 mapped as Imon Pad (or Antec Fusion for that matter) i get alot of double keystrokes (the well known double return when clicking "ok", but other keys as well - subtitle cycles at least 4 languages before coming to a rest).

I tried to change the key repeat settings in Imon and in the Logitech Software but couldn't find any values that work.

With this new version of IRSS I hope I get a new chance for a working remote ;)

Now my question: Does this version work together with MiniDisplay? Does anyone have working Imon + 885 setup that he would be willing to share?

    Any help would be great!

    Many thanks

    Markus

Want to specify that we are waiting for logs of a clean installation of latest IRSS version.
If you want to work with Minidisplay please grab 1.1.0Alpha or latest dll from related thread.

    Just to be sure

    Hi Chemelli,

when starting with this version of IRSS I disabled the MiniDisplay plugin - by now I am using 4.2 (backport wasn't working for - see my post in MiniDisplay thread)

I started using my Harmony as iMon Pad but now have reverted to trying to get the original iMon Pad to work with IRSS for the time being. Many of the functions do work now, as I stated before I still have double click issues, although only when using the button labeled "ENTER", not if I use the one labeled "SELECT/SPACE". They both seem to do the same thing though.

    The problems I initially had:

I started trying to use IRSS in MCE mode with my Harmony set to an MCE protocol. This seemed to work, BUT when starting MediaPortal with MiniDisplay enabled it seemed to switch IRServer to recognize iMon codes. MCE codes weren't recognized anymore until IRServer was restarted. I had used the iMon software previously to map buttons to remote control buttons, then disabling the iMon software and using MiniDisplay - the codes were still working. Am I correct in assuming that MiniDisplay uses the SoundGraph DLLs which in turn read the same configuration that the iMon Manager uses? Otherwise I am not sure as to why the mapped iMon buttons work with iMon Manager disabled...

This let me to the suspicion that the iMon Manager configuration still interferes with IRSS if MiniDisplay is enabled. By now I have disabled all mappings in iMon Manager, the directional keys, enter and escape can't be deleted though.

Sorry if this is a little unsorted - I tried to explain as good as I could ;)

I am a software developer myself, so please throw stuff at me - I just want to try to understand what's going on ;)

    Many thanks

    Hi taalas!

Seems you are using a HID device... So try the following:
    - Close iMON Manager (no need for have it running anymore, but has to be installed because minidisplay is using the driver which comes with iMON Manager)
    - Start IRSS (IR Server for HID)
    - Configure iMON plugin to your remote type ("Remote:" -> "iMON" or "MCE"). With "iMON" selected choose "Remote Pad mode" -> "Keyboard" or "Mouse" and if you wish to check "Enable mouse/keyboard switch (iMON PAD)"
    - Uncheck "Enable keyboard input"
    - Uncheck "Handle keyboard locally"
    - Uncheck "Enable mouse input"
    - Uncheck "Handle mouse locally"

    Give it a try :)

    Good luck, belcom.

Even restarting Server don't changes anything!

    Hi all!

First I just whant to say that IRSS is the greatest... :)
I use it for many things in my htpc:s today.
I have taken my self time to try out the latest test versions of IRSS, I am currently running version 1.0.4.1 and it works perfecly whit my MCE Remote... but not so good whit the IMON Knoob on my other system...

Now to the testing and findings...
probably this is already here in the forum but lets take it again...

Imon whorks good whit the latest version 1.4.2.2975 and abstrackt remote mappings...
the onley problem is that I cant get the channel up/down to work... the preses are registred in the logs an by the debug client but it doesn't generate any reaction?

the MCE Remote doesn't work at all thou...
When using the abstrakt remote mappings some buttons work butt very few.
If i use the MCE mappings nothing works at all i have preses in the mce trans logs and the irss logs but no reactions, i have tried to uncheck the use abstrakt in irss config and I am using the input service...
In version 1.0.4.1 I use the MCE (full) mappings and all buttons work perfectly, but there is no mce (full) in 1.4.2.2975...

    what is wrong?

    Hi!

can you please specify ven_id, dev_id and firmware version for both devices (in your two boxes), then detail your experience per device.

    Thx!

When do we get a new release :) I've seen that all imon pad buttons should work now in svn.

today i switched from using imon software to irss. Everything is much more responsible now - very nice.
The only thing that was not working as expected were the number buttons and enter (which "double-pressed"), but after deleting the ok-button in the mp config everything was fine again.
Seems to me like some buttons are "hardcoded" to work in windows (mouse buttons, context, numbers, enter) so they appear twice.

Like i said above precision is much much nicer now. the remote has changed from a s***ty one to a usable one. THANKS !
