Ya, 1080i/p is working perfectly as long as I remember to switch the cable box before turning to a channel. If I leave it on 480i/p and then switch the box, I get a horrible stutter, but a changing of the channel up / down, and it totally fixes the problem. I've connected to the graph and verified that it is using the PDVD8 codec I mentioned, so it's totally what is working in my situation. It's worth a try of installing PDVD8 and selecting the codec. I actually spent the better part of an afternoon selecting (from the top) every single codec and checking the HD-PVR's performance and it was the only one I didn't have weird shrinking screen issues (4:3 letterbox kept on getting smaller every time I changed to a channel that was 4:3 letterbox), or stutter, or audio sync. My biggest problem with all this is, why do the codecs that work well, change everytime Mediaportal comes out with another version?? In the builds by garry / WileE, I used Arcsoft all the way and it worked great, now I've had to totally switch up my codecs multiple times just to find out what works. I mean, I know they changed how the HD-PVR is detected, and that's better and all, but why did that change how the codecs are used? Is anything better in 1.0.2? What are your PMT times?

It is frustrating when things work and then not. I tried so many things it's hard to remember what worked and what didn't. I think we are getting there though. I read in the forums that TSReader needed to be fixed to get h.264 working with MPC-HC. I think someone said it was fixed in 1.0.2 but I guess that's not the case. Or maybe it was broken in 1.0.2...?
I actually went out and got a second hd-pvr today. I returned my STB PVR and got 2 regular HD STBs. I was surprised at how easy it was to setup. IRSS is truly an awesome app.
I haven't had a chance to try and get PDVD codecs in yet, I'll try tomorrow. I'm just using Arcsoft for now but I have some channels that the tint is wrong which is very annoying.
For PMT I have it set to 3 seconds and I'm using WileE's build.

Sweet, my USB-UIRT will be here tomorrow, and by the sounds of it, it shouldn't be that hard to setup at all. It'll be nice to have a remote solution that doesn't do double key presses, or other all around weird things. I think I'll hold off on 1.0.2, as I've had no real issues with 1.0.1 other then the codecs, but I've those to mostly work for me. When you say you're using WileE's build for the 3 second PMT, are you referring to the TVlibrary.dll that he recompiled from the SVN with the newest 1.0.2 build?

It's probably best if your 1.0.1 build is running nicely then leave it alone
Do yourself a favor, after setting up IRSS go and get 4 the record, you won't regret it.

Any of you want to write a mini tut on how to install 4TR w/ SD and get everything mapped appropriately? It would sure be nice <wink wink, nudge nudge>. I'm thinkin about taking on the project while at work in my down time (shh, don't tell my boss) hehe.

chesh, since you already have TVServer setup and working it should be pretty easy to setup 4TR.
Like I said, you might have to link the channels to guide channels manually or use a sql script like I did.
I can't remember on which forum but someone did post instructions on how to get SD and 4TR to work with TVServer.
His strategy was to import the channels in TVServer using {name} then running the 4TR SD imported so they would all match up and then change TVServer to use something like {number} {callsign} and check the update channels. But again, you already have your channels in TVServer, so SQL is an easier option, assuming you are comfortable with SQL statements.
I'll have to see if my codec problem is related to 4TR or not, but I doubt it is.

I don't know jack about SQL. And, ya, I already have all my channels for all my cards in TVServer, and combined across both the HD-PVR and the HVR-1600 for channels that are the same on both (so the TV Server knows that if I want to record something on channel 103 and the HD-PVR is busy, to go ahead and use the HVR-1600 instead). So, maybe the SQL script you have might be the better solution as everything in TV Server is already in there by {number} {callsign}.
