WileE - nope nothing in that area. I'll reboot and look again. I haven't rebooted since install of MP. I also had DVBlink installed, and have un-installed it and I'm hoping that's not a problem. I'll post what happens after a reboot. thanx.

Hmmmmm.... What is the "Hauppauge HD PVR Tuner Device"? My Device Manager only shows "Hauppauge HD PVR Capture Device" for each of the boxes. I wonder if that is the issue? Maybe completely uninstall and resinstall the hardware?

hmm Are you running the latest drivers that have MCE support? I wonder if mine is "tuner" so that MCE can detect it during TV-SETUP?
I'll do some un and re installs this morning.
My PVR does display in MCE. That was my initial goal. But I never could get the blaster to change channels. If I could I'd be happy.
I have a USB-UIRT on order. So far I've used PVR built in which I hear is crap, and I've tried a Pinnacle (MCE certified) IR rx and blaster.

Most software seems to want to use USB-UIRT so I have one on the way. My intall of DVBlink and Girder and MediaPortal has all been in the quest of trying to get
anything to change channels on my VIP 222k sat receiver. (lots of hoops to jump through to get something that should be rather simple).

I should get a thread stickied somewhere that says:

Buy the Microsoft MCE Remote/dongle for $30 and never look back.

    :)

Seriously. It works with everything. Everything. Even Linux boxes - LIRC has great support for it.

It'll change two external boxes, independently. It's brain-dead simple to set up with IR Suite, available in these forums, which you should be using with Mediaportal. It's cheap, and reliable. It's super-easy to program other remotes to use with it since there are MCE profiles for every media front end ever written. As I said earlier in the thread, it's one piece of this giant puzzle that has always worked for me, 100%. Changing channels, no matter what STB I have used (including Dish) has never been a problem since I got one.

I like the USB-Uirt, don't get me wrong. I have one. Hell, I bought it back in 2002 when he first started making them. However, they are pricey, and a little finicky to set up. Nice device, but when you have a $30 option that works perfectly with everything there's no real need for it unless you have unusual requirements.

    Uh, HELL no! :) LOL

Seriously though, I dont even have Windows Media Center installed (Win 7 box). Maybe thats the issue?

It's brain-dead simple to set up with IR Suite

Careful now, that might offend someone thats having an issue setting one up (i.e. me ;)...) I had a hard time getting mine to change channels reliably. For some reason it always skipped the first digit (usually the '1' that indicates its on the high def tier, so I always got the SD channel.) My solution was to add an 'ok' before every channel change...

But for most Im sure it was pretty simple.

    I uninstalled the HDPVR tuner.
    rebooted.
now I see "3" listings in TV server config. = ) thanks! I'd not have know, if you didn't share what yours said.
Though you have TWO capture listings? (for the same PVR? or you running 2?)
    I show one.

Now in TV configure - I see PVR crossbar and MP IPTV source filter? and Radiowebstream.

cool - I'll tinker a bit from here.
IR brain dead easy? hmmm even if you're over 50? I use to be computer whiz, but I have to tell you, a lot is lost at 40 and there's not much left >50.
    = )

Geeks don't grow old, they just forget everything.

ok, now the million dollar question. (removing that driver did stop MCE from being able to find the tuner).
So now how to see the PVR in MP. There are no channels per se?

And the docs don't address the PVR that I can find.
    wait...
Seemed to have froze - then a picture appeared. Strange, I THINK it has to be HD from the air (never did that before, I have no antenna) ... since the satellite tuner isn't on the channel I see. (ABC local). If would be cool to get over the air and sat. (I could then at least record from the networks while watching something else on sat.

    My channel says YBYBY#1 on 2 ??
The rest of the computer seems to act strange when MP is running. Like, I can't enter text in this msg until I close MP.

Any thoughts - and now I might see the PVR?
