THe installer isnt using FTP is it?

I think the FTP line above is a False Negative, as in a browser on the machine I can get to
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/cp005001-005500/

Totally out of left field, its possible to install the software via a Remote Desktop connection. Media server is under the stairs and Im doing the install via RDC

Please test using the attached DeployTool version and report your findings.

EDIT: file removed, please see post #15

Maybe something to do with cached credentials...I'm looking into this too...

I would use UltraVNC or similar, installing using RDP is not a good choice...

I have fixed an issue with proxy credentials in SVN 18888. I'm attaching the compiled version to this post.

    Hi Simone

Yes, that ended up doing the trick.

PLaced the file in the Mediaportal folder that gets created (eg overwrote the initial one). First time it didnt work, so tried running it by itself, and that did work (although English wasnt a language option).

Then ran the Installer again and this time the full install worked. Awesome :D

Uhm, I have exactly the same problem as the original poster and have downloaded the MediaPortal.Deploy tool in this post, but still get exactly the same problem.

I am running WinXP with SP3 and am also behind a corporate proxy(Squid) and have downloaded RC2

Any further development in this area?

I have also downloaded the modified deploy tool and it get an error after getting to the one click setup option that tells me to check my internet explorer configuration.

I am trying to install the Stable version 1.02. The deploy tool is much newer than the one that is archived in the earlier post by Simone. The exact error message is:

    Download of settings file failed.
Please Review your Internet Explorer configuration.
Corrupted config file, if found, will now be deleted.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck? Preferable with as much disabled as possible also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything) maybe other programs competing for resouces?
