Re: iPhone interface for MediaPortal (iPiMP) - 4.1.0

    Hi guys,

just wondering: does iPIMP already supports streaming live tv? I couldn't find anything in the wiki but there seem to be some commits related to live transcoding...

If not, what's the difficulty in implementing it? Is it not possible because it's only a webapp or is the problem to transcode the stream to support the iphone player?

    :D

It doesn't support streaming live TV yet. This is mainly due to not being able to transcode a live stream to a format supported on the iPhone. However there has been recent progress in resolving this and live TV will be the focus once I get the current 4.2.0 release out of the way, this should be in the next couple of weeks.

AW: iPhone interface for MediaPortal (iPiMP) - 4.1.0

    Hi!

Could it be that IPimp 4.1.0 isn't compatible anymore with actual MP 1.1 SVN. With activated iPimp plugin tvserver is crashing very often for me.

Possibly - is there something in your logs which indicate that the iPiMPTranscodeToMP4 plugin is at fault? Can you narrow it down at all? For example this plugin listens to TV server events fired when a recording finishes or is deleted - can you link your crashes to these types of events?

sorry i can't as i my girlfried wanted to watch TV so i had to uninstall iPIMP and reinstall whole tv-server and deleted accidently the logs. But there where entries in the error.log with ipimp mentioned. I'll wait for 4.2.0 :)

Hey I am running MP 1.1 and very happy with iPimp so far.

I was just wondering whether anyone had a tidy way to have the encoding performed by ffmpeg launched as a low priority task so that it plays nice with other things going on at the same time.

Setting the process priority will be configurable in the next version, due out soon.

Re: iPhone interface for MediaPortal (iPiMP) - 4.1.0

    Hello,

Found this cool application and though it would be wonderful to try with my iPhone.

While installing iPiMP, I received the following error:

iPiMP Apache service start failed Reason: -8

Any ideas why this is happening and how I might be able to fix it?

    Thanks!

Open a command prompt and run NET START IPIMPWEB and see if it starts that way.

Also - you could read the troubleshooting section of the wiki and post some logs.

    Cheezey,
Thanks for the quick reply... I read through stuff at work, but can't seem to get onto the wiki, getting a server error. Was fine at work a few hours ago.

Anyway, when I do what you suggested, I get "The requested service has already been started."
Now that I think about it, I may have installed Apache in the past when I was messing with something else.
Would I get that error if the service was already installed and running?
