My HTPC is also my fileserver and dev server (already have Apache on it).

How can I get *just* the interface pages? I've installed the MP side of it, now I only need the interface pages and the intermediate ( .net is it? ) component to do the communication.

Thanks for very nice software suite, I just installed it and its super.
I also had the problem with gentle databas path, but the rest looks very good.

I'm looking forward to the new release for the 1.0 version, and I'm will like the possibility to control the musicplayer in the future.

I really also want the ipimp to be able to work with ForTheRecord.

One thought, are the any problems to installed the web parts on a linux netserver (Synology DS107) running appache and to be able to transcode it directly to, and then stream from the netserver?
Then I could reach the recordings without having the TV-server running.

I'll post some instructions for getting it running on an existing Apache install soon, it's not too much work - just install mod_aspdotnet and update httpd.conf to load & configure it and create a couple of vdirs to the MP4's & TV logos.

Sorry - iPiMP is an ASP.NET web application so needs to run on windows.

Are you also deselecting the web server?

The iPiMP web server is dependent on the TV Server.

BTW folks - I just upgraded to 1.0.0.0 final and am getting an error when trying to go into the transcode plugin setup screen. The iPiMP installer also failed on a couple of tasks with 1.0 - I think the default location for Gentle.Config has changed. (This also stopped my from running webepg-conf and importing my tv server channels) I worked round it by copying Gentle.Config from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server to C:\Program Files\iPiMP\aspx\bin

I'll do some more digging and see what needs to be done for iPiMP on 1.0.0.0 final.

I probably failed to get this, so let me see if I get this straight:
For iPimp to work there has to be a TV server, and many possible clients; the Tv Server has the webserver to which the iPhone/iPod connect and that interacts with the clients and/or TV Server. Is that about right?

My installation has no TV server because I don't do any TV Recording, I have two client only installs one of them on the main fileserver/webserver/etc. I ran the iPimp install on this instance selecting only the MP Client checkbox, install ran fine, I enabled it and checked the config to see the port but there is no response at all presumably because the web server is not installed... is this correct? And if this is right, is there a way to install apache or use my existing IIS without installing TV server?

I just updated my ipimp installationto 301, and I have the issue that at the end of the installation process the app tells me that the Gentle files could not be copied and that ipimp will not work unless i copy them into place.... so what and where to i put them... ?

Cheezy offered a quick fix to that in the last page or so of this thread. Hope it helps.

The best fix is to copy Gentle.config from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server to C:\Program files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server and then install iPiMP 3.0.1.

I'll try to release an update in the next couple of days to support MediaPortal 1.0. If I don't get round to it though it'll be the new year as I'm off for a short new years break.

wanted to test plugin but gives install error like stated in threads before -

I also wanted to copy gentle.config, but I have no such file *pleh*

(I used the latest version of MP + server 1.0.0.0)
