roel - Do you have a firewall in the way? Please read the troubleshooting section of the wiki and post some logs.

Indeed, the windows firewall was still running on my mediacenter, the one in the router was all set... So windows Firewall disabled and it works great, it looks amazing!

Hi cheezy,
I just started to use your ipimp-client plugin to control MP with TCP/IP from my own program. I managed to connect to port 55667 (the default port of ipimp-client-plugin).
When I send a message like "status,nothing", I get the desired answer. BUT if I don't disconnect afterwards but resend a message like "status,nothing", no answer is send from your plugin. I monitored it with wireshark, so I'm sure, no response message is on TCP/IP.
I looked into your source code (iPiMPClientPlugin.vb) but found nothing helpfull.
So my question is, if I have to to some "special magic" actions to send multiple commands to your plugin.
I would like to use this feature to readout the "now playing" information to show them in a LCD-Display (I know there are different plugins around, but I also would like to do some other stuff like Standbyhandling and so on)...
It would be very nice, if you have some idea how to use a continuously connected TCP-connection...

gurkc006 - I'm afraid I don't know about having a continuously connected TCP-connection. The iPiMP web application always opens the connection, does a send/receive (or sometimes just a send) then always closes the connection.

svortevik - yes it will eventually. Once v4 is released then I'll be looking at the streaming side of things, then probably look into additional plugins.

This is assuming I remain the only iPiMP developer. From version 4 the code will be on google code (it's already there) and I'd be happy for others to help out! (It may ease the ear ache I get from Mrs Cheezey about all the time i spend on iPiMP rather than the junior Cheezey's).

hm...I´m facing a little trouble with my iPiMP. Maybe you got helpfull hints for me..!?
Simply said: iPiMP doesn´t convert my .ts-files. When I use the webinterface to tell iPiMP "convert file xy", the transcode status says
"Transcoding is not running.
Last time it started at 16.10.2009 09:24:06
and finished at 16.10.2009 09:24:06
This task failed."

What worries me is - I can´t see no reason why the task failed.
Is there maybe a problem with reading from a NTFS-Partition and writing onto a FAT-Partition?
Are there logfiles that could help me? The Mediaportal-logfiles didn´t give me a hint (maybe because I´m not that kind of Pro, you know).

There's nothing of use in these logs.

Can you restart your iPiMPWeb service, try to transcode a file then post C:\Program Files\iPiMP\apache\logs\error.log

Also your transcode plugin is scheduled to transcode at 1am so can you schedule something to record tonight and post your tv.log in the morning after the scheduled transcode has run.
