Oh, okay... I didn't realise that. I thought the change in PMT PID had made the streams recordable...
I'll try it and see how I go. The thing is that the "recording" that you posted here worked for me but the other one that you posted earlier in the thread didn't. I guess it must be luck of the draw, depending on where the stream dump starts. Like I say, I'll give it a go and get back to you. I'll also take a look at your logs to see if I can figure out what is going on in TsWriter. I've learned *a lot* in the last 6 months so maybe fresh eyes will reveal a key... and I'm pretty sure I have some of the debug code still at home somewhere so I'll dig that up too.

*Thank you* for your willingness to help!

thank you for making the effort to continue looking.

    here is an interesting point:

as a .ts file it does not play in media portal 1.1.3 (Feb 2011). It displays an error relating to Video codec AVC

    However

as a .mp4 file it plays in media portal

Not sure if that is relevant, but as the container is not changed, just the extension I thought it was wierd.

That precisely illustrates one side of the problem. A splitter separates the audio, video and other streams in a file container. In MP, anything that is not a TS file is split by the default splitter in your system (possibly Gabest, Haali, LAV...). TS files are the exception - they are split by TsReader. Your test illustrates that TsReader could not correctly split the file. I have fixed TsReader so it now splits the file, however lots of frames are still dropped. I think that is a reflection of the fact that our renderer doesn't support variable frame rate, but I have yet to get that confirmed by our Directshow maestros.

The other side of the problem is TsWriter - it won't seem to allow timeshifting or recording of the raw stream. That is more difficult for me to test and fix since I don't have access to the raw stream. I do have a few tricks up my sleeve though so I'll see what I can do.

I hate to resurrect a long dead thread... but did you ever get any further with this Ausdigital?

I've used the m3u provided by avenard (http://avenard.org/iptv/playlist-tpg-vlc.m3u) and successfully scanned the channels, but when I go to view them, I get audio but no video (in the TVServer Config channel Preview AND in MP itself).

Like you, I've been able to record via MP and playback the files with other players (audio and video), but (again) like you, MP fails to playback the .ts files.

I'm going to give the OnlineVideos plugin a bash tonight to see if that does what I want... but yeah, it's frustrating that other people seem to have had some luck hehehe :(

    Hi phippsnatch,

Despite the best efforts from the Forum team it I never got it working. Now use the online video plug-in to watch TPG IPTV. Not sure about the other providers on IPTV. Sorry I cannot be of any assistance.
