New Version

OK people, I've got a new version for you all ...

You'll find it in the first post of this thread.

You must uninstall the previous version before installing this one. If you don't there will be files left all over the place.

Also, to remove or update the TVE3 plugin you have to temporarily shut down the TV server.

This version marks a couple of major changes. Firstly, I'm no longer using Named Pipes IPC for communication between the server and the clients (plugins and apps). I'm now using TCP. Which doesn't require the same security rights as named pipes and will overcome a few of the big bugs in the previous versions.

Secondly, the MCE device support is now mature. I don't think there is anything else to change in that area, unless there are some suspend/resume issues remaining (although they should be all fixed now, fingers crossed).

If you've had problems in the past give this new version a try and see if it fixes them, but let me know straight away if you have any problems.

Sorry to say that I downloaded the latest version but it made no difference to the multi-entry problems I have been having. It was even worse, but I think that is because you changed the default timing settings. I still can't make any sense of the timing, no settings I tried would give me single entries every time. I am mostly getting one clean entry, then the next one will be a double or a triple and the one after that the same etc.

I'm sorry I can't help you out any more than that, but I just can't make any sense of it all.

The new server suite is great. A wonderful job.

With the old version i could not get Mediaportal to switch channels stable.

With the new one, as far as i could test within the short time, everything works fine.

The only thing i have found till now is, that IR codes could not be used. I have to create a macro for each code. But this is no problem.

Serial Output problem

Tried the format you descibed, but get an error when testing it. have attached a picture..

I don't have a remote for the plasma, and it is not worth much if I can't turn it on and off

Hey, sorry about that, there's a bug in the Button Mapping in Translator. I've fixed it in my local copy now and will update the test version once I've sorted out a couple of other issues. So in the meantime you should make a macro to send the serial command, and then set that macro to the button mapping.

Let me know how you go with that.

I am having difficulties learning IR codes (using eHome). Anything I am missing?

The receiver shows a red light (indicating IR-signal received) but the learning times out (no errors etc.).

EDIT: Did a reinstall, and all seems OK (?).

Can you post a log from the app/plugin you tried to learn in and from the ir server please?

Also, try learning the command in another app/plugin and see if it works, it could be a problem with that particular app/plugin.

For me the ir-codes do not work in the tv3Server plugin. I had to map them to macros.
