    Hi

I've attached two files to the post:

First, the xml file for the Hauppage remote (45-key model) to use with the MP Control plugin.

Second are the files corresponding to the set top box from ADB, model ABQ-1H4G, to use with the TV3 blaster plugin. This STB is provided in Spain by the cable provider ONO.

I hope it will be useful to someone!

    Regards
    Antoni

    ARGH!!!!
    Did a complete reinstall.

Still after everything lookgs great in Setup/config.exe (blast like it should etc) it will not work from within MP!

How can this be? I have attached logs - also played around with Debug Client - everything LOOKS good (any way to post debug client lig?) - but no blasting when actually running MP!

Also: IR-server crashes after leaving MP.

    EDIT:
After the installation om IRSS, MediaPortal GUI/browsing seems significant slower.

I have been reading most of this Thread and now ask the questions. Does IR Server work with MP Single user (no MP Server) and is it a replacement of MCE Replacement?

    Hmm,

Not sure why gui would be significantly slower ... try again with the next test release and see if it still happens (should be available in a few days).

The log files show that the plugin couldn't create a named pipe for communication with the ir server.

The most likely cause is that the TV Service isn't allowed to "interact with the desktop".

Go to Start Menu -> Run -> Service.msc
Locate the "TV Server" service and right-click, Properties.
Under the "Log on" tab make sure there is a check in the box "Allow service to interact with desktop"

I keep forgetting about that setting. I should make the installer set it.

Also, if that doesn't work, I've just received an email about something that might fix that if you are have SQL Server installed on the computer...

I haven't confirmed this yet, but here is what the email said:
I fixed this by loading up the SQL server configuration manager, and enabling 'Named Pipes' in the protocols config.

Failing that, can you also check the following for me?

    First:

    Start Menu -> Run -> Services.msc
Check that the "Server" service is running.

    Then:

    Start Menu -> Run -> Regedit.exe
    Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
And tell me what the value of "restrictanonymous" is set to.

    And:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters
And tell me what the value (if any) of "AutoShareWks" is set to.
And tell me what the value (if any) of "PipeFirewallActive" is set to.

If this is too much, don't worry, I'm going to make a program to test these settings for me, to diagnose connection problems.

    Cheers,

I have been reading most of this Thread and now ask the questions. Does IR Server work with MP Single user (no MP Server) and is it a replacement of MCE Replacement?

IR Server is going to be the replacement for the MCE Replacement plugin. There will be one more release of MCE Replacement plugin, and then it's finished. The next release of MCE Replacement plugin will have some key improvements that I've made due to the development of IR Server Suite, and will be released for MediaPortal 0.2.3.0. Then it's done. I figure that it will always be there, so people can still use it, but I would encourage people to move over to IR Server Suite because it is going to be getting all the effort put into it, and it's better anyway.

IR Server Suite works just as well with a TV Server setup as it does with a single user setup. It doesn't care how you're set up, it's made to be flexible.

    Hope that helps,

Also, Thanks for the files Antoni.

    Cheers,

And when do you gonna release a new version of the IR-server? One with a fix for the "standby mode problem"...

    Thanks for replying, Aaron.
I'll give it a shot, and will post back. (I don't have SQL installed). If it does not help, I'll use MCE Replacement. If you need/want me for bug-tracking, I am off course willing to do what I can to help you develop this great plugin.

Oh, and I hope you did not mind the outburst ("ARGH") - frustration causes strange things to happen in ones head.

    Soon my friend, soon.

I'm wrapping up a couple of minor bugs and should have it out within a couple of days.

If you absolutely can't wait then send me a Private Message and I'll send you something straight back (this offer goes for anyone else too).

    Cheers,

    @Spragleknas:

No worries mate. I know how frustrating these things can be sometimes.

I think the "Allow service to interact with desktop" thing will fix it for you.

    Let me know :)

    Cheers,

Eh.. I am not using TV-server (only TVE2) - so no TV

Also: Latest MCE Replacement is not supported by 0.2.3.RC2 and latest SVN. Any simple fix?

oh ok, umm, can you check the other things I listen then?

    EDIT:

Also, it could be that you need to install this if you don't have a physical network card installed:

    /EDIT

I'll update MCE Replacement Plugin soon, it will be a HUGE overhaul and will take some time.

    Cheers,

OK. The MCE Replacement plugin would (suddenly) not learn the IR commands (if it is not one thing... ;-)), so I'll wit and try your updated plugins (I can probably watch TV like everybody else for a couple of days).

Not sure if I remember to say this often enough, but I am very greatfull for your support!

    *UPDATE*
Fiddled a bit with debug-client and MP in windowed mode (using eHome driver):
The debug client registers every event except blasting.
When using "learn" and "blast" in debug-client, it does learn and blast.

Also: The debug client claims I have 3 clients connected to the server - that can't be right?

    *UPDATE2*
    With MCE replacement driver:
Same as above, but blasting is successful from the "STB-setup" part of TVE2 blaster plugin.

When selecting a channel which should lead to blasting, there is no response from debug client (which still says #clients = 3). Blasting from debug-client is successful.

When sending remote keys FROM debug (like "pause"), MP does not react.

PS: If I remember correctly, in previous versions blasting had to be enabled by a check box. (Perhaps that was for MCE Replacement?). I can't see an option for this any more... hope I have not missed a simple and crucial check box....

No error in log (see below). In fact, there is no indication that I tried to chabge chabbel....
