ok, a new version is available in the first post.

As always, please report any new or even already-existing bugs and I'll make them my top priority.

Cheers,

Hi and-81,

I havent been using this plugin for a while, because I can't get the blasting working. Gave the new version a go.
I have a MCE remote and keyboard, both function in Windows GUI, no problem. I don't have any problem using the setup, or learning the IR commands. Testing works fine. But inside MP I have the following problems:

1) The learned key doesnt transmit.

2) Several other keys doesnt seem to work, e.g. Back. And a few other. The Up/down, left/right and OK work.

I have attached IR server log.

Hello!

Today, I bought a Microsoft MCE Remote Control to take the next step in my HTPC-setup. Unfortunately I have a problem with the IR-server (I have installed the latest release)
I don't know if my problem is related to eloo, but when I looked in his attached log-file, it shows the same behaviour as I have. The problem is that regardless of the button I press on the remote, the IR-server reports remote event 524039 and 524047 (it toggles between these codes, so if I press a button it sends 524039. The next button press gives 524047 and so on...)
If I, for example, set both these codes to trigger "Up", Mediaportal performs a "cursor up" on all button presses on my remote control.
The remote control work correctly in my Windows XP if a enable the hidlr-service.

Any ideas?

/Fredrik

Then I performed the HidIr-Disable - Disable Tranceiver - HidIr-Enable and enable IR Server stuff to use MP but it just dont want to resume from S3 (if it is S3 standby, but dumppo indicates it at least). It wakes up from keyboard, mouse and power button but not remote. First I noticed there was no power on the USB which I could get by using MST but it still dont power up with remote and it messed up the driver if starting with for example power button so I turned the selective usb on again.

So, to my questions or whatever you can call it.
Is eHome Tranceiver Driver together with Media Center performing some magic tricks to the USB or bios that enables the resume from standby?
Is there any way to debug what happens when the computer is in standby and it receives a USB interrupt?
Is there any other way to pinpoint where the problem might be?

I am having the same problem as you. When the HID driver of the MCE remote is disabled, the system does not come back from S3 state. If I try this with the HID driver enabled, it works flawlesly, and the system can be brought back from standby using the remote.

I think that it has to do with the MCE transceiver being "armed" to do standby resumes. If the HID driver is disabled, then the device is not armed when suspending... (I guess the IR server would have to "manually" arm it as the HID driver no longer does it). The MST has an option to manually arm USB devices, but the MCE transceiver doesn't appear on the list when the HID driver is disabled.

And many thanks to and-81 for an awesome plugin! It is what really makes my HTPC wife-friendly ;)

Hi Aaron and thanks for your new version.
But sorry to say I had to revert to previous version because it seems like the encoding of the MCE transmitted remote keys has changed from 5 digit number (31xxx) to 6 digit number (54xxxx), which caused all my remote keys to stop function because the expected numbers in the IR server is still the 5 digit numbers.

Is there a new setting or something I have missed?
(I ran the macro converter but that did not change anything in this area...)
Thanks

The very last thing I did was add the RC6 Foxtel variation decoding. This has broken the RC6 MCE variation decoding ...

I'll fix it right away and re-release it.

As for the HidIr preventing remote resume ... I'll look into it. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case though... We might be back to the old drawing board ...

    eloo:
When you say the learned key doesn't transmit, is this in the TV2/TV3 blaster plugin? Or in MP Control/MP BlastZone plugin?

If you could provide a mediaportal.log file as well that would help me out.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the new version. I have the same problem with the MCE remote recording new codes, so I will wait for the (hopefully soon to be uploaded...?) fix for that. But I tried the other things I had problems with in the December 2 version and they now work. Namely, mouse positioning with pixel values now works perfectly, and the PGUP and PGDN keys are allowed again in the Keystrokes menu. Thanks! By the way, I was wondering if you ever ended up implementing the changes which would allow keystroked from Translator to be picked up by AutoHotKey and such? It's not a big deal to now that I can do things with the automated mouse, but being able to utilize already extant scripts for AutoHotKey would save the programming of these things manually by me.

Also, anyone else using a remote to control the last.fm client (for "loving" songs, tagging them, etc.)?

Well I've got the error from the MCE receiver. IR Server (MP) became completely un-responsive. Once it finally closed I tried to open it again and IR Server was no longer listening. Error:

System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

ok, I've redone the copy that's attached to the first post.

It fixes the MCE remote decoding and temporarily disables the Foxtel RC6 variation support (for decoding Foxtel remotes, but will still be able to blast them).

I'll get that fixed and re-released soon.

    blankpoint:

The new keypress simulation should be able to communicate with other apps now ... give it a try and let me know ...

    StaticMan:

Can you please provide me with the IR Server log and the Driver log (found in the root directory of that drive) ?

I need to see what packet caused that error.

    Tazman:

We'll need to test that now that the HTTP feature is in... I'll send you a PM or post back here later with some commands to try ...

    Thanks,

First off I want to say thank you for such a great program!!! I use IR Suite with my mce blaster and harmony remote and it works flawless so far.

I do have a couple questions though:

1: Can I use a macro to include killing a process or closing a program? I use the suite to also load pc games and some of my games require a 3rd party mapping software. However, on a couple of my games the mapping software conflicts with the game itself so I would like the ability to kill the mapping software when I go to play a game without having to manually do it.

2: Does the IR server suite support profiles and switching between them via a key press on the remote? To be more clear lets say I run out of buttons to map on the remote can I map a profile to a button to load a whole new set of macros, keypresses etc. In essence making the amount of combinations endless.
