Uhm I dunno If this Problem is allready solved but with the newest version, Ive got the following prblem:
If I use any key in Mediaportal (i.e. middle green button to get back to main menu) and that key is also mapped in the Translator, AFTER closing MP the Translator action starts. (i.e. Media Portal starts again)

This happens to every Button, wich is mapped with the Translator. If I push 10 times the "green MP Start button" in Mediaportal, after closing MP, the MP software starts 10 times. (start- >close manually, start->closeman...and again and again).

Mediaportal.exe is defined as "ignore system wide sttings"!

2. Problem:

Can I use the PC_POWER Button with the standard windows driver? It doesnt matter what I tell the button with the Translator to do, the system goes standby.

Thank you for that great Plugin, And-81!!!

Thanks for the info mate, I'll double check that (issue 1). Without checking I think I know what's going wrong there, so I'll get onto it and see what I can do.

EDIT: I've checked and I can't see a problem in the source code, so I'll try to duplicate what you're doing. How are you launching MediaPortal when you see this behaviour?

    As for number 2:
You can remap the pc power button. In the past this required the Replacement driver, but now you can just disable the HidIr service. Please don't use the replacement driver, there's no reason to any more and it doesn't support suspend/resume as good as the default driver.

Here's a post with a picture of how to disable HidIr in the IR Server Suite setup...

    Hope that helps,

I'm using the Translator Tool to start Mediaportal.
But every other Button is behaving same like:

push PC_Power in MP -> okay, shutdown, restart,standy... selection OK
manual close MP over taskkill, X Button or anything OK
PC Shuts down, because in the translator @ "System wide" PC_POWER is linked to my shutdown.bat Not ok...

I can create a video if its not clear enough.. Seems like Im the only one with that issue ^^

The 2nd one is solved with disableing the HID.. service :) tx!

The only thing I can think of is that you're loading MediaPortal from a macro in Translator?

If the macro has a launch command that is told to wait for MediaPortal to finish before continuing in the macro then this would lock up the translator main thread until mediaportal closed, and then it would act on all the queued up input.

I can get around this by putting macro execution on a separate thread, and I think I'll do that anyway...

If this sounds like what's happening then you'll need to wait for the next version for a fix, or stop using a macro to launch, or stop waiting for it to finish in the macro.

If this is not what is happening then I'll need to do some more investigating.

    Cheers,

Ah.. yeeaah... I start it as a macro.. great :)

I just used a macro to change the resolution to full hd, before starting MP.
(Has MP an integrated function for changing the resolution anywhere?)

Then I'll wait for the next patch. Thanks again :)

I was to fast with that video grr... 3times start MP, shutdown without doing anything ;)

You can use a macro as long as you don't tell it to wait for MediaPortal to finish before moving on.

You might be able to get around this in the meantime by setting an event in the MP Control Plugin to set your resolution back when you leave MP.

I think there is a resolution changer plugin available too. Search the forums for more on that...
    EDIT:
I found the plugin I meant, but unfortunately it is no longer supported :(
I've downloaded the source code and I'll try to get it working with MP 0.2.3.0 ... I'll also try to add resolution change commands into the IR Server Suite ... which would be cool, I think ...

The next version will execute commands on separate threads to avoid this problem.

PS. Thanks for taking the time to video the problem, I wish more people would do things like that. It makes it a lot easier for me when I can see the problem.

    Cheers,

Hmm, looks like it's the "Force Focus" option ... try removing that and see what happens.

I'll make some changes for the next version and see what I can do.

    Thanks for the additional info.

    Cheers,
