There was something similar suggested previously, not sure it will ever happen with MP1, but certainly a good one for MP2, especially with its PIP capabilities amongst other things.

Hi,

There already is a home automation plugin for MediaPortal that 'speaks' the xAP protocol. I use it to control and monitor X10, 1-wire, CBus, IR and a range of raw devices. This lets me do everything from, setting room 'scenes', checking the temperature outside, to opening the front door from within MediaPortal.

The easiest way to get EIB/KNX/Konnex into MediaPortal is for someone to write a xAP Connector for it. That way you can use the current plugin.

I think there are a couple of reasons a xAP Connector hasn't been written already, firstly the KNX hardware is expensive (as expensive as CBus in my country) and secondly the KNX protocol is not nearly as popular in residential buildings as the KNX Group would like to make you think.

However, I would love to be able to use KNX, the range of devices available is vast, for example I've got a webpage open at the KNXshop and it has over 150 different PIRs on it!
