First off, great stuff this plugin.

Secondly, I have the iMON VFD connected via USB. I guess everything is working except I cant get the graphic equalizer to work. This would be very nice. If you have answered this before: sorry... I'm tired to search any more :sorry:

hi sebrock,

I don't think a graphic equalizer has been implemented in this plugin. If you know of such a feature it is probably in another software.

well, the Silverstone LC16M chassi got this VFD display. Also it has software. But as usual everything is made for microsoft programs. So the EQ will work when using Microsofts Media Center or the media player. But the information will not be forwarded by mediaportal. I think somebody else mentioned that soundgraph has has all the information to develop a eq on their site.

ANyway, thanks again.

There is this other blugin also maid by JoeDalton that you could try -> MCE compatible displays plugin https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=2860

I don't know if the actual displays have the same features as if they were used in MCE but its wort a shoot. Before slamming your head in the wall to much you could talk to JoeDalton if what you are asking is possible.

well actually, maybe I havn't got it to work. Right now it only shows me the information that comes from the Soungraph bundled software, like emailcheck, weather, system information and so on. Usually, in MCE, playing music it automaticly switches to give information on the song. Did I miss something?

I put it on USB, and the Soundgraph driver... anything else?

I can't seem to get the Logitech G15 keyboard LCD to display anything through Media Portal. I've installed the SPPort95NT Driver and tried, pretty much, every setting in the configuration under Logitech G-series to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!

As tkortell already said, this feature is not implemented in this plugin. There are a couple of reasons for this. To start with, most of the displays my plugin support, are controller by the LCDHype drivers, which do not support this feature.

Second, the iMon is the only display I know of that has hardware support for this. On all other displays I need to draw everything myself, which is rather complicated, but most of all takes a lot of data that has to be sent to the display multiple times per second. This takes a lot of processing power, and some people are already complaining that MP uses too much processor time...

So I hope you understand that this feature is not at the top of my todo list...

I can't seem to get the Logitech G15 keyboard LCD to display anything through Media Portal.

I've checked the readme of the LCDHype driver (the driver that this plugin uses) and this driver only supports graphics mode:(

That means that at this moment you will only be able to show graphical overlays on it, as this plugin does not support drawing text in graphics mode yet.

BTW, the correct resolution to use (for graphics) is 160x43.

How to check out display feature of Media Portal

    Hi there

Before buying a complete display I would like to check out how MP works with a display in general, what is shown in which situation etc (in other words: if it is possible to operate with the TV off). Is there something like a generic driver that would emulate a display and show it on the screen? If not, which cost effective HW for evaluation purpuses can you recommend?

    Cheers

The plugin has a "DebugForm" driver, that shows a form (only viewable when MP is in windowed mode) with a couple of textboxes that contain the text that is normally displayed on the display.

It is meant for testing purposes (that is why it is called DebugForm;) ).
In the beginning I used it myself on my development PC, because it hadn't a real display attached then.

I leave it in for people like you, who want to try the plugin out before they run off to the store to buy the hardware...

Now, you'll soon notice that the current version of the plugin is not sufficient yet to fully operate MP without TV: MP itself is not able to provide all the information that I would like the plugin to show. That is why me and the other developers are working hard to change the internals of MP to make more things possible.
