Installed RC6 today, this problem still persists when using ffdshow for live tv. I tried the current ffdshow tryouts (beta7 rev 3154) and also rev3406 SSE from free-codecs.com). Maybe I should take the Steve Jobs approach, and just not use ffdshow. The main reason I use ffdshow for the tv codec is because the default MPC codec doesn't seem to handle switching between widescreen and non-widescreen channels, it stays widescreen or 4:3 depending on the first channel watched, unless I actually stop playback then start again on the next channel, which is pretty annoying. Maybe I should try and find another way around that issue that doesn't involve ffdshow, any ideas?

I'm having this problem too. I use ffdshow from SAF because my TV is somewhat crappy at PC input and has massive input lag so I need to add a delay using ffdshow. For the record I use ffdshow for all my audio decoding and videos play fine as do recordings made before I updated to RC6 and DVDs. An RC6 recording is happening right now so I'll report back with the results.

Edit: Have tested a new recording and I can confirm that it is in sync. The trick of rewinding by a few seconds works too so it's only live tv that's affected.

I can confirm this too. Tested on WinXP and MePo 1.1.1. - MPEG-2 SD source, FFDShow as audio and video decoders, analog stereo output.

I really dont want to use any other audio/video decodets for LiveTV, FFDshow gives best picture quality and smoth playback for me (using GB-PVR right now).

Acording to my tests it only happends in MePo LiveTV, for example GB-PVR/nPVR have perfect sync, but it is using MS demultiplexer as source filter.

Must be something in MePo LiveTV TS reader + FFDshow that causing it - there is no A/V sync issue outside LiveTV at all.

+1 - I experience the same issue. Switching to PowerDVD codecs solved this problem for me, though ffdshow (for me) is still more stable and feels faster when changing channels!

has this been brought to the attention of the devs?

there is no issue for this in mantis, many people use SAF or the stand-alone ffdshow pack for live tv, so there should be a lot of bug reports - maybe this problem is not affecting everybody?
