    Hi again

The problem is not on the server (the fact that VLC can work is evidence of that) so there was absolutely no point in reinstalling it. Try setting your TV codec settings *on the clients* as follows:

MPEG 2 Video: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
H.264 Video: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
    MPEG / AC3: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
    LATM AAC: Monogram AAC Decoder
    DD+: FFDShow Audio Decoder
    Audio Renderer: Default DirectSound Device

If that works, then try using FFDShow Audio Decoder for MPEG / AC3 audio too (Microsoft decoder doesn't support AC3 in third party software like MP).

I set the codecs per suggestion (log seen above to verify it's set) - still not showing

    While the screen is blank...
I tried Graphstudio: Connect to Remote Graph, I see a connection and I connect but then nothing in the Graphstudio windows - it just says Ready in red text.

(I reinstalled the server for other cleaning reasons - just wanted to be sure)

    Hi again thirdoff

If you're going to try and connect to the remote graph on W7 then you need to register proppage.dll with regsvr32. I've attached the dll that you require...

    First of all, thank you...
When I register the 64 bit version (which I am running Win 7 64) - I get no netgraph - I tried registering in both system32 and sysWOW64. The 32 bit version works in sysWOW64 but I only see an audio chain - NO VIDEO CHAIN - see below - this is my problem but I have no idea why there is no video - I followed the tutorial thread for colossus.

I see only audio chain - video output pin is false.

    Hi thirdoff

You won't see a video graph because there isn't one - that is the cause of this problem. If I look back at the last set of logs that you posted, for the client I see:

I've highlighted the bits that are important. On the client side, no attempt is made to insert a video codec at all. I have no idea why, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the RTSP stream descriptors... but then I have no idea why it works in VLC.

I'm not particularly good with problems like this. We need a streaming/MP client expert...

    Hi,

With respect, this is not necessarily a confirmed bug. As far as we can tell, you are the only one experiencing this problem. There could be any number of reasons (TV card drivers? some problem with your system) and it isn't at all clear whether the problem is happening on the server or client side.

We could enter this into mantis, but at this stage it would not move things along any quicker.

You want us to 'escalate' this. Who to? MediaPortal only has a small group on developers, none of whom are paid for their efforts. I do understand that this is frustrating for you.

It is possible to set the server to use rtsp streaming (same as a network client). Could someone post the link for the documentation to show the OP how to do this? I don't have time to find it right now. At least that would mean the rtsp streaming could be tested on the server, and if it doesn't work there, the problem is presumably related to the server. If this is the case, I would recommend a complete reinstall of the OS, drivers and MediaPortal.

    Mark
