This is happening cause MadVR detects a 3:2 Pull Down in the video and as a result it will try to reproduce the original content.

In order to avoid that u will have to make some adjustment.

Set it like that and try again:)

P.S. U should also disable any Pull Down detection that ur card might be doing, but 1st see with the options i suggest, if it works then u are ready.

Changing the madvr settings as you suggested made no difference for me. @microfast did this help you at all? Also what program was used to create the MKV

Isn't the problem with LAV? madVR says the 23.97 is coming from source filter. Interesting file!

Yes and it is not a "problem" per se, LAV is able to detect that the content is Telecined and will pass this information to MadVR, after that it is up to MadVR regarding the outcome and it depends on the settings i pointed.

In theory it is not a bad feature since it is able to detect if the original content that we are viewing is shot in a different frame rate and will then try to play the content in its original state, as an example, when we are watching a movie that is broadcast through DVB S/T, it is being broadcast in 50Hz for us (Europe) but the movie itself was shot @ 23.976 so Lav detects that and informs MadVR, it will then try to play the file at its original frame rate, this way u can watch a movie in its original FPS.

Now whether it works as it was planned to work is a good question, i will just say that i got it disabled :)

If u are using AMD then u could try and disable Pull Down detection from Catalyst control center.

Somewhat sadly I do not believe there is a Catalyst version that supports my AMD R7 260 on the test setup so am using the Crimson drivers. Do you know if an equivalent setting is available, I have not found one yet;).

    Hi @Sebastiii
regarding the problem with MP GUI blank when x presed. as you mentioned is related when Windowed overlay is active. If disabled, I have no more problems but H265 videos dont play fluent if no windowed mode active.

Is it possible to solve that?

    Hey :p
    Solve the windowed mode ?
Need to test again but not sure :(

Does it happen with mpc-hc ? (last time i get this it happen too in mpc-hc) (or maybe it's a madVR setting or nvidia hard to tell :( )
Is the problem with MP GUI and MadVr so I cant test with MPCHC.

This problem wasn't present in our Madvr MP port before. Appeared few weeks a go.

In my setup to play 4k H265 I need either exclusive or windowed.
Widowed is my prefered mode. and n ow doesent work properly as it was in previous versions

It sort of is, because you can't contain 23.976 film in 50hz telecined. One of those tags is wrong, hence the confusion between implementations. Do you have the non-MKV source?

I don't know because I have not created this MKV, but on the web there are a lot of these strange MKV with the faulty header.

You can fix the header of these MKVs using mkvtoolnix but would be nice that madvr was able to choice the correct refresh rate as do others software and in this specific case would be nice have in MP configuration a separate choice to activate DRC for EVR and for MADVR.

For this we have to hope in another "miracle" from our hero Seb :)

Ah yes MP GUI (mis read you lol, i was thinking about the darkscreen), on my side i was able to reproduce the MP GUI black when 'Disable low latency......' option is checked and it is related to some of your setting in madVR (i didn't find what option exactly), for sure it happen with windowed mode disable too.

If you try with default madVR setting, it will surely works or maybe you re-enable back 'Disable low latency......' setting ?

For testing with default madVR setting, i need to remove registry key and settings.bin to have it all by default :)

Edit : I'm pretty it start to happen when i have added the creation of the video window like does Kodi, it solve most of other issue but surely trigger some.
