After further viewing, the fix is not 100%Yes that fixes the screensaver,thanks.
I have had several instances of the screensaver comming on when playing a vid or TV. I have not pinned down what the circumstances are yet, maybe after switching from vid to tv or back again, once the screensaver has been dismissed, say, while watching TV I think it does not return until there is a change. Also happened when watching a 3D vid and noticed the OSD with 3D flashes very much. I'll also look out for refresh rate switching and get back to you with any further info.UPDATE:-
Idle timer now seems to be kicking the screensaver on as before installing the Dshowhelper.dll.
Not sure what has happened but the fix is no longer working for me, I have turned off the screensaver to get through the evenings viewing.

With v251 most playback etc seems OK but in addition to the screensaver problem I found I could no longer get the OSD using my remote, not sure whether that was a problem before adding the Dshowhelper but was certainly after.
I have gone back to v246 and both problems are gone.

Just a short note V246 works really good on Geforce 1050 TI and RX 460.Didn't see problems on my test runs.
I can now confirm: the slow stop of AMD is gone, it is not as fast as on TI 1050, but not as long as before. 10 Minutes play are about 5 to 6s seconds stop and after 1 hour TV play it is also needs only 5 to 6s to stop. Slow runs stop after 1 to 2s.
After one film and a lot of tests i didn't see green screens or other corruption! But the corruption on Live TV Das Erste HD is still there, see Bug https://community.amd.com/thread/205679 . Funny there is no corruption on ZDF HD. I have h264 hardware accelartion activated.
I tested yesterday shortly before film run the v251 and had problems. I did only see a black screen, but video and sound was playing. Reboot didn't help. Must revert back to v246, so i hadn't no time anymore to test.
P.S. I'm back on Gigabyte RX 460 4GB in HTPC. The Zotac Geforce 1050 TI goes in an other pc or maybe i will send it back. Short conclusion for people are interested:
Zotac Geforce 1050 TI:
+ Has a bit more power as RX 460 (better rendering times, especially if you try madvr NGU). For normal madvr settings it has no impact.
+ Less OSD flickering as on RX (but solved this with MP setting reduce to 2 frames for RX, also helps the Geforce to get no flickering)
- The Zotac is too loud, you only can control fan from 45% (min) and 100% (max). Maybe this will be fixed, but for a htpc this is too loud, also the temps are @ 35 to 40 *C and this fan speed is not needed. As @joecrow wrote me the EVGA model hasn't this problem. I bought the zotac because in reviews it was marked as quiter than other cards.
- 3D MVC is not as easy as with RX 460. It works but if you really need a good solution you will need a extra program, see @rohnfe posting with settings. I had problems switching SD -> 4k -> 3D so sometimes 3D on TV wasn't activated and this was because the resolution send was without 3D. You can't activate it than on TV. Don't see this on RX, only need to activate it in windows settings.
- While testing all the settings, I had more than one hard reboot. Especially with 3D settings. But no problem after setting the suggested settings.
- I had some kind of sound corruption in short sounds while in menus in MP. Setup is bitstreaming to Denon Resceiver. But no problem in film content. Maybe some kind of setting. Don#t know.
Gigabyte RX 460 4GB:
+ I feel the picture quality and smoothnees is bit better. But if the RX get a 10, the geforce would get a 9.9. This also could be a placebo, so they are quite equal with appropriate settings.
+ Not loud but also not as quite as i would like. Between the hdds you don't hear the card, but if you have a complete passive system only with ssd, you will hear it. Again fan can only be controlled from 35% (min) to 100% (max). But it is a lot quieter than the zotac and I think the old firmware and reviews stated that the fan can shutdown.
- Bug with dxva decoding and h264 content. See https://community.amd.com/thread/205679 . For me it only happens with LiveTV. Also AMD didn't do a good job with the early drivers and isn't now also.
- Compared with NVIDIA slow zapping for long runs in mp (>10 minutes play). NVIDIA takes 2s or 3s, AMD takes 5s or 6s.
Result: Both are really good cards. If the bugs are solved i think they play on the same level while you have at the moment a bit more performance on NVIDIA side. Maybe you now need also compare a 1050 vs RX 460 and a 1050 TI vs RX 470 to get equal performance results. I have takes some photos of madvr stats, maybe I will post this.

MP1-4781V2 : madVR V257. (rework how to display video window to avoid wrong place and no video displayed when it should be displayed, it should solve the GUI freeze from fullscreen to windowed video)
MP1-4781V2 : madVR V256. (change VideoWindow C++ side)
MP1-4781V2 : madVR V255. (handle only video higher than 10 and fix mouse and pause in madVR thread and fix vobsub null reference)
MP1-4781V2 : madVR V254. (fix refresh rate)
MP1-4781V2 : madVR V253. (fix index exception with XySubFilter and external subtitle)

So it will have bug for sure lol, but @daWooky it should solve the GUI freeze, because of the rework, i was able to remove the workaround introduced.
On my side, i need to resolve those :
1- When going to alt+enter and if MP windows is small, the GUI can freeze again (in fact it doesn't really freeze, it the video windows that doesn't resized but in happen when the skin doesn't correct, need to find why because with EVR, it works but EVR handle video size differently.
2- When the skin is setup wrongly by indicate Overlay video, madVR doesn't display it, when the skin is correct, it's OK.

Screensaver problem still there. Otherwise looks ok, The no OSD problem with my remote is most likely a quirk with the info button (Ortek/Hama), if I map another button to "Show OSD" it works OK so don't worry about that.

I have the Windows screensaver set to action after 5 mins idle, nothing set on the MP screensaver, with TV playing it gets actioned regular as clockwork. with v259. I will test again and try a few things and get back to you but with v246/7 it is definitely not a problem.
