I've been meaning to set up multiple servers for a while, but have just realised that support for this feature has been dropped. Will it ever resurface? Pity if it doesn't!

If you use For The Record you should be able to set this up like you want. Just make sure you change the Windows service account to an administrator account with the required network priviliges as explained in more detail in this post: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...heduler-service-26158/index92.html#post279756

Yes, this is possible, but not with the default installation. Let me explain:

It's perfectly possible to add recorder/tuners on two different machines, so in fact hook up two different TV Server installations to the core services of For The Record. But to make this really work you'll need to change the Core Services login credentials to an admin user that has full network access (by default they will be set to SYSTEM), since the UNC shares need to be accessible by the service.

You do this from the Control Panel's "services.msc".

You can always test your setup using the "Test Shares" button in the recorder/tuners panel. Of course also be sure to change one of the TV Server recorder/tuners from localhost to the machine name or IP address of the other machine.

To clarify this even further: you install the For The Record core services once on your main server. And you install a TV Server recorder/tuner both on your main and your slave server.

Remember that currently For the Record doesnt provide live tv.

Live TV will be added in the upcoming 1.3 version which will be released later this month. In the mean time recording works just fine on master and slave servers.
