Joost told me they will be incorporating some fanart on some screens, it would probably be optional. I also agree that it is good to have a simplified skin, as there arn't many available. I myself also prefer the main menu without any fanart, however I think a fanart window in tvseries would look nice in the list view

I have made a screenshot of issue 93 in the bugtracker...

What steps will reproduce the problem?
    1. Go to basic home
    2. Go to a submenu (beforestandby.jpg)
    3. Press standby button on HTPC
    4. Wait till standby, and get htpc out of standby
    5. Maya is back in basic home, but isn't showing the menu but only a < (missingmenumaya.jpg)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
    > Basic home OR basic home in the last used submenu

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
    > Win7, mp latest beta with latest svn

Re: AW: Maya: Beta release 06-02-10

Bah, my English is not very well, maybe can't say what I'm think... :)
The skin is perfect, but need some minor change, which will be include in the next release. Example My Films plug-in. Support for more field in main screen, and the movie only screen is not so useful I think, a big picture, or fanart with a little box, with minimal info. :) I don't want to be a black sheep who hasn't like anything. :)

    Hi,
Please continue to give us feedback. Your english isnt that bad at all.

Thanks for using and trying Maya.

My opinion is, the too many, and colored fanarts will change the Maya skin's original shape. The minimalism, and sophisticated design are the biggest power of Maya. This option is a nice feature, when it has an adjustable parameters, like OFF, which means total OFF and only Maya original blue background is visible, and ON for those, who's likes fanarts, but has an adjustable opacity option, where 10% means Maya looks like the original, but has a minimal visible fanart in background, and 90%, which means the fanart dominating over the blue background. Finally, if it has a 0% to 100% opacity slider, everybody will be happy. :D

I agree, either the black bar on basichome should have a conditional visibility tag based on whether an RSS feed exists, or alternatively there should be an option in the basichome editor to remove the black bar. You should add to the issue tracker.

If you use the latest version of the plugin available from Downloads - mamp2 - Project Hosting on Google Code and uncheck the "Enable RSS" box you'll never see the black box again :)

The black bar is already conditionally visible by checking if the InfoService is enabled/disabled. InfoService 1.32 unfortunately only has a simple tag for enabled/disabled. The upcoming 1.50 has way more tags, including an "enable rss" tag. But for now you'll need to disable RSS in Maya.

    :D

Mine is disabled and still showing. Added info @bug tracker.

Yes please! But as jojo1411 states, it might need some blue to follow the other maya screens in feel. Make a blue mockup just to compare :)

Idea: Perhaps make the Menu part a popup,/popout like with the little arrow on some screens. That would leave the screen uncluttered with only the essential information showing when playing.

If you look in the XML of BasicHome.xml the RSS background should have this conditional visibility (look in the last part of the file):

    Code:
    <visible>plugin.isenabled(InfoService)+string.contains(#maya.rss.visible,yes)</visible>

If it doesn't you need to update the skin from SVN too.

The mockup with fanart looks very good too, gonna be hard to choose ;)

adjustable opacity option, where 10% means Maya looks like the original, but has a minimal visible fanart in background, and 90%, which means the fanart dominating over the blue background. Finally, if it has a 0% to 100% opacity slider, everybody will be happy. :D

I like this thought too, it would make it more "Maya", keeping the total skin more in the same style.

Edit: a litle like the mockup Joz made for the Monocrome skin (stronger faded on outside)
