    AW: Maya: Beta release 06-02-10

    2 Bugs i found:

Can anybody say something regarding mysleeptimer and the "red rec" graphic in the box - even when i do not rec anything also i'm not shure if it should be there.

Also in schedules overview - series schedules: text and dots are overlapping.

The mockup with fanart looks very good too, gonna be hard to choose ;)

adjustable opacity option, where 10% means Maya looks like the original, but has a minimal visible fanart in background, and 90%, which means the fanart dominating over the blue background. Finally, if it has a 0% to 100% opacity slider, everybody will be happy. :D

I like this thought too, it would make it more "Maya", keeping the total skin more in the same style.

It is already in Maya style,
The only screen where we use blue panels is the TV/video OSD and the small now playing panel.
On top of fanart we tend to use black panels (see movingpictures info screen)
Fanart dimmed in the Maya background totally compromises the reason to use fanart in the first place.

Edit: a litle like the mockup Joz made for the Monocrome skin (stronger faded on outside)

If you're interested I have done the same with maya (pm and I will pass you a copy of my files, it will require editing xml though), although I kinda have to agree with Joostzilla.
I like the fanart in my streamedmp install a lot, kinda got carried away by it. It does not work too well on one of my smaller screen clients (which I plan to run maya on). You see somethings there but it's not distinguishable with most of the fanart.

    p.s.
The fading effect you talk about is just a side effect of using the monochrome/indigo (especially indigo) backgrounds as a transparent overlay.

This is what I mean! :) This method could use in My Films, and TV-Series too, if enabled, and nothing showing, if OFF!

And now coming something completely different. :)

First off all, the basic home screen. My advice is, there are four items, which is important, and may need to be front of your eyes. The time, the date, the weather (logo + temp), and last but not least the RSS feeds. These items are need to be on same position, on every screens, mostly. The time, the date and the weather (logo + temp) may be a bigger on home screen. The RSS feeds on bottom, and has always same size and position. Yes, I think the feeds is slide up, when I watching TV, or Video, and the OSD has come up. I know, the OSD is contents the clock, and it's look good, but We have more information to display. There is more way to do that. First, modifying the OSD a little bit, to display the time with sort date, and weather forecasts (logo + temp). Second, add a bottom line, - same size and colour as RSS feeds, but shorter - to OSD, which contains the information.

I'll try to present this idea to You with GFX, but writing it down was a faster way. :D

Aaand now, back to the studio! ;)

Is there an install guide for this skin? I know it has an installer, I've just noticed people before offered plugin files and whatnot in order to resolve issues.

A complete install guide is in the making by Pilehave.
