I run both 1366x768 and 1280x720 skins on my main HTPC which is 1024x768 (non-square pixels = 16:9) and cannot see any scaling problems.
I am not talking about scaling.
    The problem are the animations.

If you take blue2wide (which was designed for 1360x768), and run that with 1280x720, then all animations our out of place.
I.e. the basic home menue which "zooms" in from the center of the screen. on 720p, the startingpoint of the zoom animation is nolonger the center of the screen.

So if you are using such (zoom) animations in your skin, then the startingpoint of your animation will not be correct at any resolution, lower than what you designed it for.

The other way around is no problem at all.
As you can see, Blue3wide was designed for 1280x720, and it will work correctly on all larger resolutions without any issues in the animations.

    Designers choose. :)

Ok infinity, there are a few places where the scaling does differ, for instance FireFox (Changed to Google Chrome, works fine there :)), and also some config screens. I guess it's due to programming using pixelspecified sizes rather than percent and units or something like that. Though, i would say most, maybe 95% or more looks so close that you're just complaining for the sake of complains. In MP Client, I can't tell any difference at all, not a single pixel looks wrong to me using Blue3Wide. Maybe some other skins looks bad, haven't tried yet. The idéa of a HTPC is not to be browsing to configscreens all the time either :p and as long as Spotify, Chrome, MP, all native Win7 apps and much more looks perfect, i won't complain :)

New screens in first post :D

Looks very nice (as expected) but some mistakes in your mockups takes a way from the illusion that it's real screens. :D Do you plan on a alfa release, or will you just wait 'til Christmas for the next stable version of MediaPortal and release a beta then?

You are right. It are all mockups. But.... all mockups resemble the final screens for 99%. In the designs i push the enveloppe a bit. Pilehave had himself approved a couple of patches especially designed for this skin.

btw What specific 'mistakes' do you mean?

Damn, lot of small fonts still in use. I guess I'll have to start a donation thread so that I can by a new LCD TV (or hold back few fixes until someone either fixes the fonts or sends me a new tv :)).

Don't worry, there's gonna be a special ...package... for those of you unlucky enough to be too far from the screen (or having a too small screen)

    ;)

The only font that is even to small for my glassed eyes is the info text in the tvosd. That will be fixed for sure.

Btw what size Tv do you actually have :)

The info-text on the OSD is big enough on a 42" from 3-3.5 meters, but I can see that it could be borderline if you go any further away...
