Integrating an automatic update system for MP, Skins and Plug-ins would super! Having to uninstall everything whenever there is a new version is a pain and not very user-friendly...

Just use it the same way than WMP does because for novice users works fine. Also, add another option for advanced users that allows to specify witch codec to use with each format (divx, xvid, h264, etc). But the main feature that MP2 should have is INTERFACE, a very easy, nice, 3D and very customizable interface. It should be also very easy to skin (using a skin designer). Also, to my taste, the configuration program should be very nice and eye candy (i can help with that if it were necessary) keeping the same MP brand image in all the program. Also, a wizard that could guide the user to easily setup the basic features in MP... and another advanced configurator, for power users.

What about Blu-ray support in MP II? Will this be included or any solution to use other players (for example http://www.arcsoft.com/products/totalmediatheatre/ ) as plug-ins?

Well he's free to do that, and i really dont mind it
But as said, we dont want others to use our ideas/code/gfx for MP-II before we released it.
As soon as we released it, it will be opensource and everyone can look at it and copy it
(as long as they follow the GPL license offcourse)

a loooooong time ago, the Team MeediOS decided to not to merge with the Team MediaPortal and continue to work on their project (MeediOS).

After that we re-started from scratch and created MediaPortal 2 as it is now.

I'm sorry Frodo, but may be that u don't understand what OPEN SOURCE means... i think that it's good to share ideas, and of course... discuss about the different points of view... if you want to keep your project under top-secret, just release a propietary software, don't use Open Source...
