    Hi!

I thought it wouldn't. This is the new features in the 7.4 release, can it be the "problem"?
If yes, is there anyway to "disable" it in the catalyst program?

    New Features
This release of Catalyst™ introduces the Avivo Video Converter for the Vista (32-bit) operating system. The Avivo Video Converter is a tool that provides a quick and easy way of converting videos from one format to another. The Avivo Video Converter found within the Catalyst™ Control Center accepts a wide variety of file formats as a source, and outputs to file formats such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4/DivX, WMA, H.264/AVC and more.
7.3 is failing, so if something changed for the bad then you have to look there.
Anyway, I'm afraid that it won't bring us any further. Would it make sense if somebody contacted either AMD or Asus on this mather?

Thanks a lot for your investigation: You've just made my day! This problem bothers me since several months (cf. this thread). However, I am using the onboard graphic card ATI Radeon XPress 200.

Unfortunately, I am no tech expert so it is hard for me to tell where the problem lies (ATI vs. DirectX vs. MediaPortal) ...

    G.

    GoldenEye: you're welcome. :)

I've filled in a ATI Catalyst Crew Feedback form with link to this topic. I'm no expert in DirectX, so I can't do much more I'm afraid.

I shall use 7.2 for the moment.

    Benjerry!

Have you tested to use just the display driver from Catalyst 7.2, and install just the Catalyst Program 7.9 (not the display driver). That because of the "new features" in the Catalyst program i the later releases.

Otherwise I'm gonna test it this evening.

No, I didn't. My focus was on the stability. :) And I might say that it's unlikely that new features would function without changes in the driver.

Hi, I have an ATI HD 2400, and although I can download the 7.2 VISTA drivers for it, when I try to install them it doesnt seem to want to load the drivers, so Im basically stuck with 7.9.... and crashing :(

I also have a hell of a time trying to turn off de-interlacing on this system, every 2-3 seconds the filed order appears to reverse, making the picture very juddery. I have set the Catalyst Control Panel to Weave, which I understand is no de-interlacing, then in MP I set all de-interlacing to none or off, or weave. I can occasionally get it going but it doesnt take long before it reverts back. I have a 28" CRT TV with a VGA to SCART lead. Any suggestions please?
