I just installed MediaPortal and StreamedMP skin. When I go into MediaPortal the program seems very slow and sluggish. Is this normal?

I couldn't the MPC video decoder to install either. Anyways my menu screen is just very laggy and wondering whats wrong. Thanks!

Yeah I have the same problem with streamMP. It takes about 60 secs to even load up a film

Oh, I'm sorry. I ended up getting it to work though. I just updated to the beta versions. I'm using Windows 7 64bit so that may have been the problem.
Also, does the ATI TV Wonder HD 650 work as a tuner with Media Portal? It's not on the supported devices list but I was just wondering if it would still work with the program.

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)

Since over a year my MP sometimes stucks while showing the welcome screen. It started once a week now it happens every second time...

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC.
TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.
